Clean but disappointing pool and staff

We stayed here for one night at the end of a road trip. The pros: The hotel was clean. The beds were comfortable. The toiletries in the bathroom had been refilled. Ample parking Good location off of the highway Breakfast was good The cons: After being on the road all day, our children were looking forward to swimming in the pool. When we opened the door to the pool area, we were hit with an overwhelming odor that reminded us of natural gas. When we alerted the front desk, we were told that it was a “natural pool smell” and when we questioned further were told it was nothing to be concerned about, because it was from the chemicals they used in the pool. As someone with a degree in chemistry, I can tell you, that pool Chemicals shouldn’t smell like that. Our kids were very disappointed that we wouldn’t let them swim, but the smell was so strong, that it didn’t seem safe. We stayed in 6 different IHG properties on this trip, and this was the only one whose pool area was unusable. The room was dated: There were no usb outlets in the room to charge devices and the hair dryer was attached to the wall. If you are not wanting to use the pool area, this property is fine, but we probably wouldn’t stay here again.

A very nice one night stay

Stayed here one night on my way home from vacation. The room was exceptionally clean, The bed was very comfortable maybe the best hotel bed I’ve ever slept on. They had a nice breakfast (for a hotel free breakfast), the Wi-Fi worked and the staff was nice. I really like how Holiday Inn has the shampoo and the soap already in dispenser bottles in the shower.

We had a very nice stay at this hotel. Our room was really large and comfortable. The bed and shower were great. Our breakfast was above average and they had a staff member serving at a counter, which you don't see at many hotels. I'd like to see the hotel not use so many styrofoam products (plates, cups). It's bad for the environment. That's my only suggestion as everything else was wonderful. If you're staying there I'd recommend dining at Station 101 restaurant and pub. They serve the best food along I-80 in this area.

Quiet, Comfortable Stay

Conveniently located off of I-80 near several gas stations and a short distance to the town center for restaurants and shopping. We enjoyed a quiet, comfortable overnight stay. The room and common areas were very clean and well-maintained. I was greeted by friendly and professional front desk staff. The woman working the breakfast area was cheerful and helpful in explaining their current modifications to the breakfast service, which provided many food options. Will definitely stay there again.

Very comfortable place to stay just beside I-80. Super staff !!! (friendly, professional, welcoming). A big Thank You to Marta, Doreen and Sky!! You made our stay very nice!! When in the DuBois area, I recommend this Holiday Inn DuBois.
