A Fairly Average Stay That Didn't Live Up to the Hype
Avaliou em 10 de Outubro de 2021
I've stayed in a number of Seattle hotels and this one doesn't merit being the #3 hotel in Seattle, but it's definitely clean and quiet. Several things that diminished my experience:
1. When we arrived the valet made zero effort to help with our luggage. I grabbed the luggage cart myself as the valet and front desk staff just inside the door watched us struggle with loading the cart and trying to get through the double doors inside. One front desk person was not behind the desk and just watched us. Valet was quick to bring our car each time but otherwise never once opened or closed a car door.
2. You communicate with the front desk via text, which I did find to be efficient. However, several times I asked for extra sets of towels (specifically extra hand and wash cloths), and while the towels were delivered, they never brought the right thing.
3. Our AC unit cycled off and on every minute the first night we were there, which was super annoying. The front desk sent maintenance to fix, but the issue continued to occur. Until the final night, when the system stopped coming on at all and the room was too warm despite the thermostat reading 67.
The King suite was fairly good sized but the furniture was uncomfortable. The bathroom was massive but in a cavernous way. As someone else mentioned, the sink faucets are far too close to the edge of the sink, meaning each time you wash your hands you're running water on to the countertops. Vanity needs a towel bar to hang the hand towels so they aren't sopping wet from constant covid hand washing. The 7th floor that everyone gushes about is merely ok and could use some kind of bar service. Valet parking is typical for downtown, $46 or $56 per night I believe, bringing the nightly room rate to over $300.
I recommend the Hyatt Regency nearby for a nicer stay. And if you want exceptional service, The Lotte. The Sound Hotel is adequate but there are honestly better options downtown.
Modern, clean hotel in excellent location

The hotel location is very convenient to transportation, attractions and dining. Staff were welcoming and respectful. The room was spacious for a downtown hotel. There is a lounge on the seventh floor with gorgeous views to the north, a wonderful place to sit. Decor was modern and in new condition. I would definitely return to this hotel.
New to Seattle

The Sound Hotel in Belltown will be my only hotel I stay in in Seattle! Great staff!!! Well worth it! Great location! Close to everything! Definitely a must for all travelers! Highly recommend you stay here!
#3 in Seattle-are the other hotels that bad?

As HiltonHonors Diamond members, I expect a little bit more special treatment! For example, when we arrived just after 1 pm, no rooms were ready??? Really. They claimed that they were clean but had to be inspected, that we were going to get a better room if we waited, etc. They let us wait in their lounge/outside patio area-I think on the 7th floor, but I eventually went and sat 10 feet away from the front desk to hurry things along! We did get a room just before 3 pm. I don't understand why hotels can't prepare better for early arrivals, especially when many people check out before 9 am as we did the next morning. They need to study queuing theory and be more efficient. Second, as Diamonds, we get a $12 credit per day per person, but we couldn't use it until the next morning. Although this is a new Hilton policy for the second half of 2021, all other places that we've stayed have let us use this benefit as soon as we check in-might have had several glasses of wine, although $12 would have just barely covered one each?
We were supposedly upgraded to king bed studio. Except for the separate dining table area, I found the room to be average size. It was very "boutiquey" as expected. The bed was nice and firm, but the pillows were much too soft. Everything was very clean with very modern decorations. The bathroom had a shower but no tub. There was a double vanity with lot of towels plus some foo foo amenities: soap, shampoo, creams, etc. The shower needed more water pressure. There was a rain shower plus a hand held nozzle but weak flow and frequently changing water temps. The lights in bathroom were on timer so you could be left sitting in the dark, if you get the picture! In the room, the lighting was very well placed, especially in ceiling above each side of bed. The TV was ok but limited channels-had major networks but not minor local ones like CW, etc. There was a good Keurig coffee pot ( 4 pods reg coffee, 1 decaf, and 1 tea) so one doesn't need to buy the overpriced coffee in restaurant plus I don't care for overly sugary coffee for which Seattle is famous!! The room was quiet, even with mostly full hotel. The room faced south with great view of the Warwick hotel rooms. I wondered if they could see so much of us too? There was a little chaise lounge with 2 chairs and table for in room dining referred to as the possible "upgrade". The ice machine on our floor was near the elevator.
In conclusion, the restaurant was supposedly closed on Sundays and Mondays. I got some decent, reasonably prices sandwiches and pastries, all tasty and much enjoyed, on the Saturday morning we were there, but I wondered but didn't ask what the situation would be for our $12/day per person credit were we there on Sunday or Monday morning??? It was a very nice hotel, but if it's #3 in Seattle, Seattle has some hotel issues. I could see it being in the 25th percentile or so but not in the top ten. Also, it was convenient for us to walk from the light rail after riding in from the airport and then to our cruise at Pier 66 the next morning. Both were easy, less than 10 minute walks. All in all, a decent stay that served the needed purposes, but I probably wouldn't stay here again when there are so many hotels in the area.

This was a wonderful stay from start to finish. Jonnetta, who checked us in, was delightful, and the room was spotless. The decoration was lovely, and the rooms are spacious (enough that my husband slept through a virtual meeting I had to take early in the morning). Will definitely be staying again!
