Great sized room and convenient location

Although not a picturesque location, it is convenient (easy access, near a super market) . We receive a warm friendly welcome and shown to our room, which was larger than we expected and had basic cooking facilities (Microwave, hob) which was very useful as we were tired and just pooped to the supermarket and made tea. The only downside to the room was that it smelt of cigarette smoke. Breakfast was a little on the expensive side, but had a good choice with a hot food option. Overall a good stay and recommended.....

On a cycle tour in a heat wave and found by luck. The two of us got a family room and it was cool and had blackout shutters. The owner gave us a cold drink and took our bikes to lock up as we looked very hot. Lovely big rooms and right near a supermarket and about two kms from centre of lovely old French town. I have never been happier to find a hotel and how good it was was a bonus!!
An amazing customer service experience

From the time of arrival till departure our hosts answered every query positively, with a smile and charm. Room was generous and as best can be done in mid summer cooled prior to arrival and was spotlessly clean. €11 breakfast which encompassed the usual breads, cakes, cereals and drinks but also came with a house speciality of ham egg & cheese on toast and an olive, their own fruit, crepe. All round it's purchase like the hotel was a marvelous decision In a word, but which word, marvelous, fantastic, terrific or outstanding.
Pretty good for a road trip stop

November is not the best time to visit as the town of Seltz was wreathed in fog from evening until morning. However, the hotel was very accommodating and checked us in at 10pm, thanks to us getting lost somewhere in the Palatinate. The room was very spacious, clean and even had a kitchenette, while the owners provided some milk to make our baby's bottle in the morning. The breakfast was substantial and the children had locally made chocolate spread. It felt very homely as there were a few toys for the children and the owners were sorting out some hampers for a family day out (I think...). A useful stop on the way from the Netherlands to Switzerland. The only thing was no curtains in the suite, so you wouldn't get much of a lie-in even if you didn't have an overexcited baby to wake you up at 5:30. Finally I was very appreciative of the fact that the owners forwarded my credit card in the post after it had been lost by said baby as she rifled through my wallet while I was in the bathroom.... Thanks!
We were treated royally!

We started off a bit on the wrong foot when checking in, but it was our fault - partly due to the language barrier (my French is not very good), and simply not knowing the layout of the hotel. Once we got past that, we had a wonderful stay! Our room was clean and comfortable, and the bed was very nice. The breakfasts were terrific! Madame Marie-Helene (the innkeeper) made us little breakfast sandwiches each morning of toasted half-croissant topped with ham, cheese, and a fried egg! (a breakfast croque madame, if you will). This was in addition to the cold cuts, smoked trout, various baked items, juices, and as much coffee/tea as you wanted. When we checked out, Madame Marie gifted us with a nice bottle of Alsatian wine as an apology for the mix-up at check in, even though it was our fault!
