Clean, but very basic

We booked this place since all the reasonably priced hotels in Campeche were full. The hotel looked different from the promotional pictures. In reality it was a very budget place at the end of a narrow road in small town half an hour away from Campeche. It was not near the sea. The hotel looked like it was mostly used by port workers. The room was clean, but very basic: hard mattress, harsh lights, tiny TV, no Wi-Fi.
We had made a reservation through one of the online services. When we arrived the receptionist could not find our reservation among his printouts. He did not have a computer with internet and did not speak any English. Nevertheless, he gave us a room (not the "executive" room we booked). Next morning with the help of another guest we were able to explain the situation to the owner.
It was an okay place to spend the night, the price was very cheap, but if I had a choice I would stay somewhere else.

I gave this 3 stars by American standards. But here, in this area it's super for what you're getting.
Rooms: I reserved a Junior Suite. However after discovering that all of those accommodations are on the third floor...and no elevator...I went with a standard room. It may also be executive, I'm not sure. It's actually nicer since there is a sliding door that leads to the pool area. Why climb stairs for a bigger room overlooking the pool and the adjacent building and pay more? The bed is fairly comfortable. You are provided soap, shampoo, towels and washcloths. The AC works great!! Better than the one I had at Dreams Sands Cancun This room has a dorm fridge. Nice to keep drinks cool.
Shower: Great! Plenty of hot water and decent pressure. There are wash cloths, something often overlooked in this area. There is a shelf with room for soap and plenty of products.
Wifi: Not available in the rooms or pool. In the lobby however it's super fast I presume because no one is using it.
Lobby: Has a snack area to buy sundries. Not a huge selection but some sweet and salty treats and soft drinks. There is A limited seating area and the lobby remains open to catch the breeze.
Pool: Not huge, but large enough to enjoy. Stays open until 10:00 pm😊. A little chilly this time of year, as are 95% of all pools. Unfortunately there are no chairs by the pool. We arrived on the 27th and were there 2 days and had the place to ourselves.
Language: I think if you do not have some Spanish skills you could have some difficulty. But google translate your way through it!! Verizon customers can now add a global plan and for $2 per day in MX and CAD you get to tap your wifi from home-)). I think it's $10 per day in Europe.
Location: A few blocks from the ocean. No real beach here, a lot of fishing here. It's a cool town. Very relaxing. I'm going to try to add the Restaurant Veracruz here. It's delish and not far from the hotel. 20 peso micheladas, 50 peso fish ceviche and 95 peso coconut shrimp as big as my hand. All very fresh.
I'd pretty much say you need a car here to be free to move about with ease and explore the area.
Breakfast: The included continental breakfast is meh....coffee, juice OR fruit, bread and butter. Nothing more. The toast is good with the strawberry jam. We enjoyed the omelettes we ordered very much. 65 pesos each.
This is a great stop to save a little money and enjoy the coast. You can also feel a bit adventurous. Rooms go for as little as 800 pesos rack rate. You can buy some lunch meat, a few paper plates and spoons and drinks and enjoy your time on the cheap.
Roomy, view of Gulf of Mexico

Renovated, off the beaten path, and trying to make customers happy. They allowed a mascot to stay in our room. No INTERNET far away from front desk. Kind... good spot. Family ambience, great gardens and inexpensive.
