Stayed there after watching a gig at the tabernacle. I have never had such a warm welcome for a lovely woman Sydna. Everything clean, superb service cracking breakfast. AMAZING Value. Will be going back so I can have a chat and a cup of tea.
A most wonderful host!

My partner and I stayed here and visited a Brit Pop night at the Tabernacle. However the highlight of the weekend was our wonderful host at The Bell Sydna Coles. She made us some lovely tea on arrival and entertained us with her very own articulate poems and a lovely breakfast to end our stay. Thank you Sydna we hope to see you again soon.

we stayed here with the wonderful Sydna Coles, a charming host. It's clean and welcoming. Not lavish so don't be expecting that. But this lady makes up for any themed room. A great breakfast was prepared. Plus lovely pots of tea and chats. She read out some of her poems and we even walked up the river to the waterfall with Synda still in her apron. We watched the sky and saw shooting stars. I found a four leaf clover in the garden. She asked for £20 but we gave her £30.
A poem by Sydna Coles. Our River Ennig
Ennig, Ennig, bubbling bright,
Though our town on a dark cold night.
Reflecting colours, reflecting light,
Running away with all your might.
Ennig, Ennig, I hear your name,
Be it day or night you're just the same.
The dancing river, your claim to fame,
Ripples and waterfalls your game.
Ennig, Ennig, i tell you true,
You're the life of Talgarth, flowing through.
Bringing freshness, fish, waters new,
You are our vein of life, are you.
Ennig, Ennig, keep flowing by,
Be it sun or stars reflect the sky.
Until you meet with the River Wye,
Lost to us, we say goodbye.
Copies of her poems on sale in the tourist information. Talgarth.

I was travelling with my mother and my three year old son on a family holiday from Australia. The Bell suited our needs very well, offering a spacious apartment with three bedrooms, two bathrooms, kitchen/diner and clothes washing facilities. The hotel is no longer operating as a licensed pub, but continues to offer B&B and self-catering apartment accommodation options. Landlady Sydna is friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. Her warmth and care for her guests was clear to see, no pretence, just genuine good old fashioned hospitality. It was sad to say goodbye after our five day stay. Thank you Sydna for a wonderful stay in this beautiful part of the world. We will miss you and your dear old dog Trixibelle.
What a place

It is best described as a step back in time. Sydna the landlady has been the licensee for forty years and some of the decor and memorabilia would signify this. Don't be fooled. The welcome is most warm and really genuine, even down to Trixie the corgi. There are no frills or fancy gimics about the Bell, just a clean bed and fabulous breakfast. The charges aren't bad either. Only 20 pounds per night for genuine friendship and care. If you want 4/5 star, don't stay at the Bell but if you want great value for money, good manners, care and attention you will find nowhere better.
