Best hotel for exploring monschau
Avaliou em 26 de junho de 2019
Stayed for a night in May for our trip to Monschau. The room, including the bathroom, is nice and clean. In fact it is a lot better than what it looks in pictures ! The only downside is that our room was facing the street and there was some noise of moving cars at night but since we were jet lagged we fell asleep immediately and didn't bother us much. The vinothek looks nice - sadly we didn't have the time to try it out due to time constraints. The breakfast spread was very good - even though we are vegetarians, there were enough options like cereals, different type of breads and jams, fruits, yoghurts, tomato and cheese, etc. to eat. The staff is very helpful. Highly recommend this hotel.
Beautiful renovation into a classy Vinothek.

This old barn took three years to convert from what it was into an architectural wonder! The bedrooms are minimally, but well furnished, quiet and comfortable. The breakfast choices are plentiful and what one would expect in this part of the world where hiking and cycling are the preferred methods of spending a holiday. The vinothek has choices galore of fine wines to try with tapas and snacks, drunk and eaten within a characterful space. Kragemann's is the ideal one night's, preferably more (!), stay in this picturesque part of Germany known as the Eifel Nature Park, about 70 kms west of Cologne. Building conversion at its best!
Comfortable hotel near Monschau and Aachen

The hotel is fine: nice, clean rooms, not very spacious, but everything you need is there. Floorheating in bathroom. Friendly staff. Breakfast is not very luxurious, apart from the basics there are boiled eggs, fresh fruit and yoghurt. It turned out to be more luxurious on Saturday and Sunday: then there were small croissants, scrambled eggs with sausages and 'Sekt'. If you book a room, ask for a room at the back. The hotel is situated near a thoroughfare, so you cannot sleep with open windows (unless you wear earplugs) and there is no airconditioning. This can be a disadvantage in summer! The hotel has a 'vinothek' with excellent wines where they also serve delicious 'Flammkuchen'.
A perfect place!

The place to stay in Simmerath
