Beautiful experience. An amazing team of the crew. Superb hospitality. A pity, I didn't get to enjoy most of the facilities. But, location one hell of an advantage - being at the top of the cliff. At sunrise, you get such a wonderful view and experience a heavenly rise of the sun. I would actually book a trip back to this place. Room - spacious and having the suite; I had the sea view. OH MY GOD! Belissima!
Always have lunch here when visiting the area (I live in Umbria) and last night spent the night. Immaculate room with all you need in terms of facilities ... very fairly priced too ... super friendly and efficient staff ... copious breakfast buffet ... wonderful restaurant on a flower filled terrace ... and of course with the unique location at the very top of Monte Conero the views are to die for. Some may regard it all as a little old fashioned ... that’s exactly what I like and so recommend this place wholeheartedly. Dog friendly too.
Outstanding location and service
Just completed a week stay while attending a choral workshop. The service at Hotel Monteconero was impeccable. Certainly among the best I have ever experienced. That, plus the wonderful dinners (I was staying half board), the splendid views make this a clear cut 5* for me. I'd have absolutely no hesitation returning, and hope that perhaps next time I would be able to take more advantage of the walking opportunities in the area.
You could spend all day on the terrace enjoying the view
I attended a week-long music workshop at Hotel Monteconero, but would happily come back for an "unstructured" stay. The view from the terrace (which doubles as breakfast and bar area) is phenomenal. Restaurant is quite good, with an abundant assortment of local antipasti and a good wine selection. Staff very friendly and helpful. The hotel can be reached by taxi from Sirolo or Ancona (the hotel has an arrangement with a local service), but a car is necessary if you want to explore the area (such as the hill towns of Osimo and Loreto or the beach at Portonovo).
Lovely hotel, though some things could be sorted
This is a lovely hotel high up on a hill. The views are incredible of the sea and the valley below. However, because of this, in bad weather it can be hard to get to. The rooms are a bit Spartan. The TV is pretty small, and the channels are in Italian. It's a common problem in Italy. The bed is comfortable. The double bed was two singles pushed together and not locked. I know this can bother some people. There is no tea service, and this is also common in Italy. The bathroom had a shower, and also a bidet. However, airing it out was solved by the window not closing properly, which in the cold could be a problem. Toiletries were bars of soap, shampoo and a cap. Breakfast wasn't very big, and they weren't always on top of refill. The view from the breakfast room is beautiful though. The receptionists were very helpful, though their English a bit spotty. I had a problem with the temperature being unusually low for September, and also suffering from a cold. They got me a space heater, which helped a lot. I also kept the bathroom door closed. Housekeeping was good, the only thing I would say to the hotel is to do what most hotels do, and only change the towels if they are left on the floor. More economic that way. Also, I kept hanging my towel next to the shower, and they kept putting them back under the sink. I so knew I would forget to hang it before I got in the shower. The surrounding area is great for small hikes, but the terrain can be difficult, so best bring proper footwear. Getting a parking spot late in the evening can be difficult, and best done with a smaller car. Not to far by car there is an are with shops for food and the like. Overall, nice hotel if you like to be in the middle of nowhere. I don’t know if they close for winter, but possible, since the steep hill must be hard for a lot of cars in the snow. I did enjoy my stay, and would return. Must be great for weddings as well. Do check out the videos I shot around the hotel and in the room on my Youtube channel, Izzy's Travel Diaries.
