Wonderful lunch at Rose & Crown. We visited last year and were definitely going to book again, Sunday lunch is incredible both the food and value for money. Very friendly staff and would highly recommend. This pub is very welcoming and friendly.

Lovely countryside location. Once inside there are several rooms and a bar. We were greeted by a nice friendly lady who was in charge and very accommodating. The other rooms were decorated in school-like blondish tables and chairs. The bar room was an eclectic mess of furniture banged up, scratched and soiled cushions. Carpets throughout were old, soiled and shabby. Our table was so sticky we didn’t want to touch it. Just a very unkept and cluttered pub. The food was average with typical dishes that were over 50% chips.

You will not find better than this little gem of a pub. The rooms are clean and comfortable, with everything you need with lovely views to the rear of the pub. The food is amazing, great portion sizes and all made from fresh ingredients with reasonable prices. The staff were very friendly, attentive and warm and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Called in late afternoon. Made welcome in a welcoming pub! Recommend their steak pie with perfectly cooked meat and spot-on pastry 👍 Thank you ladies and the (unseen) chef. We look forward to visiting again soon.

This is very odd? I gave a good review of the wholesome food and warm atmosphere at the Rose & Crown and its been taken down? The reason we went to the R&C was the poor quality & small portions of the fare at the nearby Slaley Hall Hotel where we were staying. My beef burger the night before at the hotel was served on burnt blackened bun and my wife got frozen box battered fish under the guise of 'fresh' fish. The hotels menu was very limited not what you would expect at a 4 Star. Apart from this the spas jacuzzi was out of action remaining so for many weeks after our stay. So how/why did my positive review of the Rose & Crown get removed? - don't know but the fact that yesterday someone tried to remove my review on Slaley Hall Hotel and failed then I got a management response and request to contact them raises concern.
