Pros: Welcoming at check in, view from the room of the coastline was fantastic, relaxing atmosphere, aircon in room was good, close access to transport (bus) to visit Sorrento, Mini-Market closeby, high availability of sunbeds Cons: Limited food options at hotel restaurant (Ate elsewhere), expensive breakfast (10EUR for continental per person), 90% of the pool was ridiculously deep (akin to the Mariana Trench), temperamental water in the room - stopped completely several times and little pressure from the tap/shower at multiple other times, hotel location is slightly out of the way, bus systems were confusing (unsure of times and which bus to catch), last bus back to the hotel was just after 10pm whereby you would either have to pay 30EUR for a taxi (approx 10 mins) or walk for 30 mins up unpathed, unsafe windy roads. Overall: If the water had not been an issue, our stay would have been value for money - Hotel Dania is a functional place to stay.
Made us Feel at Home
The Hotel Dania is a wonderful place to stay with beautiful views. Every night we were able to enjoy the sunset from the outdoor dining area. Traveling from Hotel Dania to Sorrento is easy—a short walk to a bus stop will take you into Sorrento. Our guest room was very, very clean and had a beautiful view of the sea. The breakfast offered a nice selection that everyone could enjoy. My husband enjoyed the numerous coffee options. The dinners at Hotel Dania were not your typical hotel restaurant food. The meals surpassed our expectations. They were fresh and delicious! The owners and the staff were welcoming and made us feel like members of the family. We felt like we were guests at their home. This is without a doubt where we would stay again the next time we are in Sorrento.
Relax with my wife
The Hotel Dania is located 2.5 km from Sorrento city center. It is a place you want to go if you want to enjoy the fantastic view of the island of Ischia and Procida. The sunset is breathtaking! The staff is great and rooms with sea view wow!!! Hotel Dania has two beaches you can reach walking from the Hotel, a sandy one ( Marina di Puolo) and the famous ( Bath of Joan Queen) bagni di Regina Giovanna which is also an important Roman ruin. What else, food at restaurant was great and affordable! A place I will certainly go back to!
Booked this hotel not knowing what to expect and was very pleasantly surprised. The staff is beyond friendly and nice, they're almost feel like family. Very personable and gave us great recommendations. The balcony sea view has a panoramic view of the sea and far away Naples. You could just sit their and enjoy a bottle of wine. Close to the bus stop to go to the center of town and then come back and relax next to the pool. Taxis can get expensive so use the bus or stroll down the road (not as bad as some people suggest, plus breathtaking views of Sorrento) and take bus back up. Mattress on firm side but I like it that so it didn't bother me a bit. Breakfast was good. I would definitely recommend it as a great value and would not hesitate to go back.
We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. Booking in was very pleasant and management were friendly and helpful. We were informed that the rooms were ready but when we got to them they were not finished. We travelled with another couple and their room was spacious with a nice balcony. Our adjoining room however was about half the size of their room which was quite disappointing. The rooms themselves offered great views but that was the only saving grace. Old and very basic...no tea or coffee making facilities and in our case, quite small. Insulation from the adjoining room was poor and could frequently hear our neighbours talking. The rooms were air conditioned but it frequently did not work. A continental breakfast was available and was very good. Location is quite good also with about a 10 minute walk to a bus service with took you into Sorrento. All in all, the stay was pleasant enough but I think pushing 3 stars.
