I came to realize that my mom's illness had progressed rapidly beyond what I expected. I had to send my daughter due to proximity. I called the hotel 2 days ahead to see if a room would be available if needed and explained the severity of the situation. I did not make reservations at that time but he said there would be no problem getting them a room if needed. Upon arrival to Spring Valley it became clear that for safety reasons I would have to get my daughter the room. I looked online for best pricing and found the same room at $55 and most all others for SAME were $65. As my daughter made her way into the hotel I had her show the pricing while checking in. ( EVERY HOTEL WE'VE TRAVELED & STAYED has MATCHED PRICES for EVERY trip!! ) The woman at the desk seemed confused regarding pricing and had to call the TEAM Leader. He was the man I spoke with a couple days before. Despite the severity of my moms health decline and limited time she/we have, the Team Leader told me that he would NOT match pricing and that if I wanted the $55 or $65 dollar price I would have to make my reservations online. I was so very upset about this!! I couldn't be there myself and my daughter & grandkids have been on the road only to find her grandma didn't remember them making the hotel necessary. This man was not budging & kind of had me over the barrel regarding cost. With our emotions running high, them being tired, I had no choice but to pay what he was asking. Everything there after didn't matter!!! To know that a family is in distress and refuse to match pricing knowing time is short was not only aggravating but I think it was bad business and cruel! Had we planned a vacation, cost would not have mattered, but an unexpected family crisis made money tight. I was NOT expecting a handout from this hotel, JUST the common Courtesy of matching price. Because of this alone I would NOT recommend this hotel and would say to stay in either Stewartsville or Rochester in hopes of better service. There is a VERY limited Continental Breakfast here. Make your own waffles and cereals No fruits, or eggs, no biscuits w/gravey, no sausage/bacon.. Who cares anyway. Im DISGUSTED WITH THIS TEAM LEADER!!! A decent hotel would want to match prices with the business sense to know that families may come back to stay in future and/or recommend the hotel to friends.

This was the worst night I have ever spent in a hotel-ever! Believe me if we would have had a chance to travel and stay somewhere else we would have. At check in we noticed a cigarette smell in the hallway on our way to our room even though all rooms were supposedly no smoking. We should have left then. By 10 PM it was as though we were in a night club back in the 1980’s, before smoking bans. Our room stunk so bad from cigarettes you would have thought we were doing the smoking. We called and complained but the”damage” was done. How the smell went undetected up to this time by the staff is a mystery. We were to tired to drive to another place, it was late at night and to cold outside to sleep in the car. Do Not Stay Here.

Although the room appeared clean, there was a distinct musty odor throughout. The air from the air conditioner unit also had this smell (needs a filter change??) Bedding and decor is dated. Nice cold refrigerator. Coffee maker and microwave worked well. Iron and board in room.Two floors, no elevator, average breakfast. The WiFi was fast and easy to log onto. Plenty of ice (only machine is on first floor).Our room faced the road and was quite noisy. Satisfactory for one night.

This was a fine place to sleep for a few hours on a family road trip. Nothing fancy but all we needed were beds to sleep. It's privately owned so it has a mom/pop vibe. It was very clean but smelled a little stale. Breakfast was basic but included yogurt and fresh fruit. Desk clerk at midnight was pleasant and helpful. Area was safe. If you need the generic feel of a national chain this might not be the place for you but we were happy to support the local economy.

Was assigned room 328 and when we went in it smelled sort of stale, not like any smell from cleaning. My wife went into the bathroom and the toilet stool had not been cleaned. There was many spots of feces on the bowl and also the stool. She called down to the desk at approximately 2:20pm to complain and ask for someone to come up and clean it and the desk clerk said she would have someone come up there. We got back to the room at 10:30 pm and it had not been done. We left today, 9/9/2018 and it never got done and still looked like a toilet at a second rate gas station. Very disappointed and will not be staying at any more LaQuinta Inn's again. Lots of motels around the Rochester area.
