Great find

This is the first time I've ever stayed at an AVID hotel. I don't know why it is only a 2 1/2 star rating. This hotel is extremely clean and modern. I had to give this hotel a 4 out of five star rating. If I had to come up with a complaint the only thing I could come up with is that it's 7 miles off of I-95 I highly recommend this hotel.

Room was not clean, I found a few hairs on the beds we had and on the floor, there was dust and parts not cleaned! The bathroom was unclean with hairs also on the floor and counter top. Will not recommend or come here ever again.

Poor customer service

I booked a standard king or double queen through priceline and was given a handicap accessible room by Janae at the front desk, priceline attempted to get the refund but hotel would not approve, the hotel also lied about the room availability as while I on the phone with priceline another guest made a reservation and received another room on that floor after Janae telling me that there are no other rooms available on that floor. The customer service from both Jane at front desk and Christy Jackson who is the General Manager was horrible.

Lovely decor - new hotel

Rooms are not very quiet. Hear upstairs and nextdoor neighbors moving chair or luggage on floors. Small room. TV guide is not accurate. BiG + fresh brewed coffee beans for each cup of coffee. Uncomfortable watching tv from office chair. Desk staff difficult to understand.

hotel practices discrimination

I was traveling and wanted to try this chain last minute as I was traveling back from the outer banks in NC back home to MD. I saw a billboard on highway and booked a night stay when I realized I needed to rest before continuing the drive back. I encountered awful and unprofessional exchange at check in. The front desk manager, Hiren Patel, displayed very strange, rude, and irate demeanor. He was not at front desk when I arrived and seemed annoyed that I was bothering him to check in. I was asked to show 2 pieces of mail verifying my home address by the manager. He had the most unprofessional demeanor and behavior I have ever encountered from a hotel. He had my driver license that had address as well had pulled up the rewards account. I ask why would he need my mail to check into a hotel? I travel monthly rather international or within USA and never asked to show mail to verify address. It was a strange request. He responded with terrible attitude and became as quick tempered. I had done or said nothing to warrant this response. He said to just leave or he would call the police. I told him not without refund and cancellations completed through booking.com. I responded to him that I have the right to ask questions regarding why he needed mail. He had charged my credit card and refused to cancel on his end initially. Told me to get out and call booking.com from the car. He then proceeded to call me a a dumb stupid black woman while I was making a phone call to booking.com for assistance. I have escalated the situation to corporate. Yet have not received a response. I definitely feel I was racially discriminated towards. I have travel extensively just this year alone to Maldives, Seychelles, Zanzibar, Barbados, London, Turkey, Portugal, Madrid, etc. I earn a high six figure salary and have master's degree. However, it does not matter if I was a bum off the street, I did not deserve to be treated the way this manager did to me. I have ask for written policy regarding needing mail to stay in a hotel. No response yet as of this date. I will not stay at a hotel that would support and allow this type of treatment. Furthermore, if he could go from 0-100 just at me asking a question..I would be concern about what else he would do to harm or disrepect a guest.
