Clean room, friendly staff
This was a comfortable room, I travel for business and sleep in hotels 6-10 nights a month. Like most hotels during Covid the property was almost empty, the staff was friendly and helpful. My disappointment was the exterior lights were aimed straight at my room so I couldn't sleep with the curtains open, which is a shame since I wanted to see the night sky. I learned this by opening the door to the balcony which was not properly installed and once opened could not be closed; add to it when I grabbed the door frame from the back it came off in my hand, so I spent the night listening to the wind howl through the door all night.
Excellent value
We were pleasantly surprised with our King suite room having separate rooms for the bedroom and living area. It was perfect for our overnight stay during our road trip. Despite our room facing Route 8, we were not disturbed by any road noise. While the balcony did not offer much of a view, it was nice having one. We found the housekeeping and overall upkeep of the hotel to be good, despite this being an older property. The lobby and common areas on the ground level are spacious; there is an outdoor courtyard as well. Walking distance to a few restaurants and a short drive to Cuyahoga Falls for additional restaurants.
Another Marriott disappointment
All of the reviews about the dilapidation are spot on. While the rooms and hallways seem to have been given some kind of decor refresh, the hotel is has still obviously been neglected. Bed was very comfy. But whatever—it’s a Courtyard. I don’t find this surprising. However if you care for your health and safety during COVID be sure to stay elsewhere. Numerous times we saw the housekeeping staff without masks and many guests without them, all without a peep from management. This is why Ohio’s COVID cases are skyrocketing. No one cares here. This is a nation wide brand decision and they can’t get their staff to comply? What else are they ignoring? Lastly someone was smoking pot in their room and the hotel did what all Marriotts do and pretended it couldn’t do anything to find out who it was and put a stop to it. I paid for a nonsmoking room in a no smoking hotel. I did not get that. “Market” is sparsely stocked and cafe is closed but fast food options abound in this area so you won’t go hungry as long as you’re willing to find food elsewhere. Lots of delivery options too.
Comfortable, clean and well run
The manager of this hotel is just wonderful and couldn't be more helpful. All the the help was terrific. Our room was wonderful. I liked the table on wheels that gave you a chance to have a work or eating area where you could slide it away. The bed was outstanding. It was like sleeping on a cloud. The white bedding was luxurious. The only thing I didn't like was that breakfast was not included (at least in our rate.) Everything is extra- no water or cookies. The coffee maker was small, but if you wanted hot tea, you were out of luck.
Comfortable Courtyard
The room was recently remodeled and as comfortable as any Courtyard. The walk-in shower had low water pressure and did not have any soap or shampoo. It had two faint competing smells, that of whatever was cooked in the microwave by a previous guest, and the deodorant used to try and get rid of the first smell. Staff at the Bistro was very friendly and helpful… and they didn’t close 15 minutes before the official time like many other Courtyards do.
