Lovely one night stay away

We stayed for one night as we were there for a concert in the Arena next to it. We had a lovely stay, room really comfortable and clean, we had quite a nice outlook with the sea in distance . Yes as others have mentioned the lift wasn’t working but we were told we could use the service lift which was no problem at all, think some people like to complain about anything ! We had the breakfast the next morning which was faultless . Hot and cold selection of everything you could think of , buffet style , no complaints at all. Special mention to the lady ( sorry didn’t take her name ) who showed us to our table , extremely friendly ,welcoming , courteous and explained everything to us . The staff in the bar area also very friendly. Would definitely stay here again without any hesitation.,

Disappointing stay due to maintenance issues
Avaliou em 5 de março de 2023
The hotel is in a good location with easy (paid - £5) parking. Level access to the beachfront, Marina and city centre. Unfortunately, it is in dire need of refurbishment and this affected my stay. Check-in was quick and the Reception staff were very good. The main lift was out of order so I had to use the service lift, which was less than ideal. It would be very difficult for a wheelchair user. I saw a previous review mention the lift not working so it is either a long-standing issue or a recurring one. I almost tripped on the way to my room due to a large tear in the corridor carpet. There were other tears as well, seemingly near most fire doors. The room had a stale smell when I arrived and was very cold. The main heater didn’t work. Even on maximum temperature it didn’t blow warm air. There was a wall heater in the corner of the room which was working but it wasn’t enough to warm up the room. I had a very cold night. On the positive side, the bed was quite comfortable and the pillows very good. The hospitality tray was well stocked and there were proper toiletries and plenty of towels in the bathroom. The best thing about the room was the view of Swansea Bay. I didn’t use the bar/restaurant in the evening as I was quite late getting back to the hotel and food stops at 10pm but the breakfast was good. A friendly welcome, offered freshly made poached eggs or omelette if I preferred it to the buffet offerings. The Full English was a pretty usual choice but everything was very good - no complaints about the hot food. The Continental selection was pretty limited, but I guess most people have a cooked breakfast in a hotel. The only thing that let it down was the dreadful coffee from the machine. I was in two minds whether to give 2 or 3 in this review but the major maintenance issues in a hotel at this price range are, frankly, unacceptable. I’m afraid I can’t recommend this hotel. Although the options in Swansea are relatively limited, there must be better options than this hotel in its current condition.

Mixed experience

3 generations - grandmother, daughter and 10 year old granddaughter in double, double for up to 4 people. PROS - immaculate room, lovely staff, comfortable beds and bedding, lots of hot water, free coffee/tea/biscuits, free wi-fi, large television, good choice at breakfast, nice view of marina, parking opposite for £5, 12 noon checkout.. CONS - on one site, stated free robes and water, but not supplied; television kept going off, only one set of toiletries ie bath cap, bath, gel, etc and 2 glasses in bathroom for 3 people, lift not working, scruffy corridors, extortionate room service - wanted £10 for portion of chips delivered for granddaughter, room quite cramped. Paid MUCH less for same type of family room in Cardiff after Christmas which was far superior all round.

Great location and staff!

Just left a great few days in Swansea at this hotel. The location is perfect and I was able to get a waterfront view from my room. The train station and markets are a close walk and there’s a cool rooftop park nearby. Rooms are comfy although I was out most of the time touring Mumbles / Gower Peninsula. The staff are superb including the front desk who assisted with my bus adventures and Lynne from the dining area who was a true delight. She had a personal chat with everyone arriving for breakfast and took the extra time to make all feel cared for and special. Thanks again from a traveler from the US and plan to return to Wales again!
