Landhaus Sundern is a basic hotel in a pleasant rural location within 20 minutes of Munster Osnabruck Airport (FMO) Rooms are basic with bed and wardrobe. No phone, no fridge, no kettle or tea/coffee making facilities. There was a good smart TV in my room and the bathroom was excellent having recently been refurbished. There is a restaurant bar which serves workable basic food. Breakfast is usual German affair with cold meats, cheese, vegetables, yoghurt and cereals etc.

Very poor management. We booked a room with credit card to guarantee it past 6pm, but when we arrived at 6:30pm we were told we were too late. Even though the booking confirmation the manager held had clearly in black and white that our room would be guaranteed! It then came to light that he had in fact double booked our room for the third night of our three-night stay, and we would not be able to stay there for that night. He was at first trying to blame us for being late, when in fact it was his fault! As this was obvious, he then said he would help, but he did not do a thing until Saturday afternoon - it being Saturday night that we had no accommodation. He said he would drive us to our new hotel, which he did, and then he drove us back to Tecklenburg Stadt and said he would drive us back to our new hotel again later, as it was a fair distance away. He did seem very apologetic and we believed he was doing his best to fix things. However when we called him later to drive us back, he was not there. The lady who answered the phone said she did not know what he had said, but he was not there anyway, and then she abruptly hung up on us before we could say more! This place is badly run and the people who run it are dishonest and rude. The manager charged us for three nights although we only stayed for two, saying that he would pay our second hotel for us, however I believe that place was actually a bit cheaper than the Landhaus which means he pocketed some extra money as well. I strongly advise against booking this place. The room was serviceable but not worth the money, and our bathroom had not been cleaned. All in all it was a terrible mistake to choose this hotel and I would not recommend it to my worst enemy!

Late arrival was specified but our room had been given away by 7pm on our arrival day, the manager was unhelpfull!

The reservation through HRS clearly requested late night arrival, we arrived only one hour after the normal checkin time to find that our third night room (Saturday) had been given away. The manager would not help us to resolve our accomodation issue and so far (Saturday morning) has made no attempt to help us find a room for tonight. He has been unfriendly, unhelpful and does not seem to understand the needs of his customers.

Entsprach nicht ganz unseren Erwartungen (Sauberkeit)

Der Service beim Check-In ist OK und ganz herzlich! Die Zimmer sind neu renoviert (z.T. aber etwas schludrig gemacht), aber die Sauberkeit der Zimmer ist nicht akzeptablel. Dusche, Betten, Böden sind nicht oder nur unzureichend gereinigt. Das Frühstück besteht aus Käse und Aufschnitt vom Discounter. Kaffee war kalt und wurde erst auf Nachfrage ausgetauscht. Säfte und Obstsalat in guter Qualität vorhanden. Lage für Radfahrer und Wanderer optimal, Innenstadt ist fussläufig zu erreichen, direkter Zugang zum öffentlichen Schwimmbad (kein Hotelpool). Wenn das Thema Sauberkeit nicht gewesen wäre, würden wir evtl. wieder kommen, so aber werden wir darauf verzichten.

Bij aankomst blik op het locale ongedierte: de muizenpolulatie die de afvalcontainers volledig uitspitten. Een leuk schouwspel. De kamer: verder prima, groot terras, en schoon maar mét putlucht gratis erbij. Restaurant: bediening die bij ieder woord moeilijk kijkt/fronst alsof het erg ingewikkeld is. De kaart ontstijgt het studentikoze niveau echter niet, dus hoezo mogelijk kijken? Ontbijt wachten we nog ff af maar we stellen de verwachtingen neerwaarts bij, kan het altijd meevallen! Ligging: top ten opzichte van Tecklenburg, op loopafstand. Kortom: de bijna enige gasten zijnde is een beetje treurig.
