A fortnight in Tenerife
We stayed in this hotel for two weeks and hired a motor scooter for visiting the island. The hotel is in a quiet area and a 10 minutes’ walk away from the central square. The room was clean and housekeeping correct. The staff was mostly friendly. However on a couple of days the breakfast was unsatisfactory and the staff had overwrought nerves although there were not may guests. Some of the chairs were broken or had new painting, that left some marks on our clothes.
the worst holday
Got to hotel trovador porta de la cruz 16th september only to find out im the only english person in the hotel all germans the place was without a welcome lots ov features missing it needs an update All the staff had issues this hotel has nothing to give to hoilday makers just grief would i return never
It’s mostly okay, sort of, like modern life is mostly good’ish 😉
I wasn’t sure what to expect after reading the reviews, one of which said “if you’re English your view from the window will be of a wall” that woman was right but from the corner of my balcony I can also see the sea. The room as such is papered with your mums old Anaglpyta from the 80’s but perfectly acceptable as I’m not here for the wallpaper. There’s no air conditioning in my room, it’s 2019, how is this even possible, there’s also no WiFi except from the reception again, it’s 2019. The restaurant only opens for breakfast and most of the time the hotel is like the Mary Celeste, a ghost ship of what it could be, there’s a bar by the pool that never opens and life guard who’s never actually there. The hot water from the 1960’s shower over a bath is inconsistently hot and cold, oh and your minibar, also, does not exist. The maid comes every day and does an excellent job of tidying like your mum and I’m forcing the staff to speak to me by hollering “Ola” at the top of my voice whenever I see one. The views from the sky deck (let’s call it that) are lush actually, Mount Tiede says hello I’m the mornings before hiding amongst the clouds of an afternoon. The excursion desk also seems to never open so I booked mine down the street. Oh and breakfast is good, Canarian tomatoes are my favourite. I think this might have been a great hotel in its heyday. Now it’s a shadowy glimpse of the past but it’s also cheap, safe and could be a lot worse. I’d actually come back if they let me 😉
Enjoyable holiday
I'm just back after a weeks stay at this hotel. My room was spacious and comfortable with a lovely view from the third floor balcony. The cleaning service was excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good, a great variety of food with hot items, great fruit, breads and pastries. The pool area on the roof was very relaxing with amazing views. Overall the hotel is excellent value for money and I would definitely stay here again.
Good Hotel (but needs updating!)
Been here for a week but been ok except the room needs to be updated ! Shower over bath but kept falling off handle also kept going hot then cold.. Got to pay 2 euros per day for safe or fridge in room No aircon or fans (moses come in door or window open evern lace don't help also lots of noise outside as well) If got neighbours next door room then you can hear there conversations clear Room gets cleaned everyday except Sundays. Breakfast ok and changes everyday with something different Staff very friendly and helpful when they about (no staff at pool or bar not open) Day outs : visit down the road for better prices Recommend cafe on corner of street down road from hotel
