Practically Perfect

We are non-skiers and travelled from our beachside home in Queensland to get a change of scenery during the snow season. Selecting a random property online is fraught with issues that aren’t revealed until you arrive, thankfully this was not the case. Our booking was for 2021 but COVID19 locked down travel arrangements. This was the point where we discovered how wonderful the management is at Pure Chalet. “Could we defer our visit for 12 months”, we enquired, and without missing a beat it was agreed to and confirmed in writing within 10 minutes. The directions for arrival and self check-in were precise and easily followed. The room is pleasant and well fitted with underfloor bathroom heating, heated towel racks and a delightful picture window that looks directly into the treetops and further on to the snow covered mountain and ski runs. The assigned car park is convenient and the steep stairs a small inconvenience for the benefits gained by a high location. An unexpected bonus, were the delightful rosellas that appeared by the dozen along the balcony railing. The host surprised us with a bottle of sparkling wine after overhearing our gift giving at breakfast for our wedding anniversary- very unexpected and a lovely surprise. May I also add that the breakfast provisions are exceptional- not just a fruit plate but ripe, tasty fruit of at least three types. Then the delicious fruit juice, in-house made bread and then the cooked breakfast- scrambled eggs with bacon was my favourite. The tea and coffee and chocolate chip cookies were available at any time. My final, and to me most appreciated aspect of this marvellous accommodation facility is the quality of the water. A cup of tea is so extra pleasant on water from the local spring source and my usual blob of shampoo on my hair foamed up so much more due to the softness of the water! Fabienne (and Skip) provided first class hosting of a very pleasant premises.

A great stay for 1 night & Fab as the host was lovely. Booked in at the last minute and took the last room which was great, super comfortable & everything up to date, which often isn’t the case in the snow. Breakfast was also excellent. I will stay here again…+ car parking is super easy direct from the Alpine Way. Topped it off this morning walking to Mt K on an absolute superb morning!

Not worth a 9.1 Bookings rating but it was clean & tidy.

Stayed here for 1 night. The chalet was quaint. The room was clean & tidy. The bathroom had a bath that was big enough for 2 people & was modern. The room itself was comfortable but lacked the luxury feel with the king bed being 2 singles pushed together. There was no luxury or homely inclusions. We were surprised it has a 9.1 Bookings rating but for a ski lodge it is well worth the stay.

We stayed at the pure chalet for two nights and we loved it.The room was a bit small but it was lovely and clean the bathroom was a great size heated floor the shower was big and the water was hot and a great pressure. Our host Fab what can I say she cooked the best scrambled eggs I have ever tasted, fresh fruit lovely fresh bread looking out at the rosellas coming for their breakfast.Just be mindful it is a great walk down to the village but it is an effort to come back up the hill, plus we had a lovely view of the mountain can highly recommend this chalet 👍😊

I stayed solo in downstairs room #3 at Pure Chalet for a mid-week summer getaway. The place is easy to find as is the parking, people with mobility issues will struggle with the many stairs to get from the top to the chalet, and then another flight to get to the bottom floor if you're in room 3 or 4. I was greeted by Fab, who is one of the managers. She was absolutely lovely and very understanding of my covid nervousness (the other house guests were not wearing masks as they should have been) arranging for me to eat in my room. There are delicious home cooked meals available and I can vouch for the canneloni! So good, as was the ice cream desert. There wasn't really enough room for me to comfortable hang in the common area while other guests were around (again covid), and be aware that the dining area is one large table, so if you're not into socialising with people you don't know, something to be aware of. The deck however, is lovely with a stunning view and lots of avian friends. The room itself was comfortable. +ves - Heated floor tiles and towel heater in the bathroom! - Huge bath and spotlessly clean - Lovely atmosphere and view - Comfy couch - Lamps with warm lighting - Felt secure - Extra pillows - Spotless throughout -ves - Creaky floorboards from above and every movement is heard. I was fortunate to stay where all the other guests were older, so I had noise at 6am rather than 2am partying. This could be an issue in the winter months. - One openable window. The room was quite stuffy, and a small fan would be great for warmer days. - Althought comfy, the king was two singles pushed together, so not really a king and a hard ridge in the middle. Could be solved with a memory foam topper. - Would be amazing to add a small tea kettle and basic tea/coffee facilities - Room #3 was quite dark. I snuck a peak into #4 which was vastly different with panoramic windows. Depends what you like I guess! Dark can be cosy. Overall it was a comfortable stay. I was lucky with noise from above, I feel that it could easily ruin a good nights sleep. I again have to commend the amazing service from Fab, plus her delicious cooking!
