Easy to reach from Narita business hotel with easy train access to Central Tokyo
The hotel located three minutes walk from Shinkoiwa Station on the JR Sobu Line with direct connection to Narita, Shinjuku and Tokyo Station.. Use the North Exit from Shinkoiwa station, turn immediately right walk about 50 yards and the hotel is across the main street. A few steep steps to reach the entrance next to a restaurant (where guests can have breakfast). I'd say it is a typical Japanese business hotel - a small room with a bathroom (lots of hot water), a kettle, hair dryer and a small fridge and working free w-fi. The room was clean although reaching a stage when refurbishment will probably soon be planned. Very polite receptionists, with not much English but that was not an exception. A few grocers shops around and some restaurants serving Japanese, Indian food and a good Pizza restaurant just opposite station exit. Many more restaurants and a busy shopping passage near the South Exit. On the whole, I had a pleasant stay and found the price adequate for what I received. If I need to stay in the same area I will return to Shinkoiwa Park hotel.
Good hotel , but
I think the hotel is very convenient and good hotel. very close to Shinkoiwa station. room is clean, but it looks a little bit old. I woke up again in the middle of the night because the sound of ambulance car and police car outside is very noisy.
Good little business hotel
Travelled on a karate training trip staying in a room by myself. Having stayed there about 3 years ago, it was great to see a smoking room had been installed as as opposed to open smoking area in the foyer. Very convenient hotel, very close to Shin-Kiowa station and within walking distance of a great supermarket, and a sometimes overwhelming variety of restaurants and eatery's. There is a restaurant downstairs. However, I am yet to try it. Free unlimited wi-fi from my room meant I was able to tune into some English speaking TV content, as most, if not all TV is in Japanese. (Which can be funny to watch without understanding for some shows). Plenty of powerpoints, but if you are travelling to Japan for the first time and looking for an adaptor, remember to pick up the one with the two vertical plugs only and not the one with the additional round plug. The rooms are modest, but very clean, with shower, bath and electronic toilet in the raised bathroom. As it is a business hotel the toiletries include a disposable razor, cream, toothbrush and toothpaste. There is also a bed gown should you choose to wear it. The bed was firm but very comfortable. But if you are not used to rice(I believe) filled pillows, it may be worth it to take one of your own. The water is okay to drink. There is a kettle, green tea and a small fridge. If you need to heat anything there is a microwave downstairs and there are vending machines in the laundry with the staples - noodles and beer.😉 The price is also competitive and the staff are extremely polite and patient, especially when your Japanese leaves a lot to be desired. Would definitely recommend this hotel for business or if travelling with friends or as a couple.
Terrible
I arrived to the hotel at 12:30 after a long flight but the receptionist refused to check me in till after 3:00pm. I tried to explain to her that when I booked it didn't say this otherwise I would have booked somewhere else but she kept saying sorry..
Compact and Convenient
We checked into this hotel in the wee hours of the night. Fortunately the hotel is very near to the subway station and it is located on the main road. It is really convenient with lots of restaurants around and the best part is, the restaurants are still opened after 12am! The convenient store was just across the street which comes in handy when we wanted to have some late night snack. Even though it is located on the main road but there was little noise. The area is busy yet quiet and safe. Check-in was quick and easy too. Wifi was free and fast. The only shortcoming is the room size, which we think it is not uncommon in Japan. However it is clean and compact though a bit on the small side. The staff were polite and very helpful even though they speak very little English. As we were traveling with young kid they even allowed us to use the staff entrance instead of going up and down the flight of stairs. The nearby subway station is just a few stations away from the city centre that you don't have to endure the hustle and bustle of the city but yet remained convenient and accessible. Restaurants around the hotels offers good varieties with reasonable price. There was even a shopping arcade within walking distance selling loads of local produce and local delicacies. We feel safe walking around even in the middle of the night! We had a good stay during our visit and we will be staying here again the next time we travel to Tokyo.
