My recent stay at Motel 6 Troy

I recently stayed at this property, while attending the recent St. Louis Railroad Prototype Modelers Meet in nearby Collinsville. Since the hotels closest to the meet were booked, I needed to search farther out. I picked this Motel 6 kind of on a whim, due to its proximity to the show location, plus the room price was a factor. From the outside, the property although not bad, needed some TLC. My surprise was on the inside. The lobby was very clean, and the room was absolutely spotless! The hallways needed some cleaning, but with all the foot traffic, was to be expected. Despite what most people think about Motel 6 in general, those pre-conceived ideas need to be thrown out in this case. This was a very pleasant stay, and I would stay there again, if in the area. The room I was given, was clean, quiet, and the A/C worked!

Made reservations on line. Needs repairs to walls and bathroom was gross. Lots of dark hair. Previous guest socks on the shelf. Was told free breakfast and queen beds. Lies. Two hypodermic syringes in the parking lot. Save your money sleep in your car.

Better than expected

Better than expected. Very clean room. Appeared to be freshly painted. Basic room no pictures on the walls. Did have a small refrigerator and a microwave. No coffee maker coffee is downstairs in the morning, but they were out and had to make. Bed was very comfortable even though the pillows were super thin. No Kleenex in the room. Towels small as was the TV. Did provide a smoking room and a senior discount.

Won't Stay There Again

It was getting late and I needed a place to spend the night on my cross country trip. I'd had pretty good luck with Motel 6's so far, so I stayed here. The night desk clerk was helpful and friendly. The room was relatively clean. The floor could have been cleaner. The towels were clean but stained. A little bleach would probably handle that. The bed sheets were clean, but a little ragged and had cigarette burn holes in them. The rooms opened into a hallway instead of the usual Motel 6 set up. Around 1:30 am, someone loudly knocked on one of the doors down the hall and called out to someone. About an hour later, the same thing happened again. Not a good night's rest. Upon checking out that morning, the day desk clerk was sullen and a little creepy. Seeing as how this was one of the more 'expensive' Motel 6's, I expected better.

Stop over for my drive home. Up to date room, clean and quiet. Lots of room to park if you are pulling a trailer. No morning meal except coffee. Easy on and off the highway and restaurants across the street.
