DO NOT STAY HERE. This place is absolutely disgusting. The front desk employee was super sweet, but we couldn’t give this a better review for that reason alone. Our bathroom floor was sticky and had hair all over. There was no bath mat. The faucet moved a couple inches every time you turned it on/off. The bathroom door had dirt build-up from who knows how long ago. The floor lamp was broken and leaning against the wall. There were several areas where the walls were deeply scratched or damaged. The bedding had stains (hopefully washed), the black out curtains had holes in them, and worse of all, there was mold where the wall and ceiling meet that we didn’t see until morning. There was also a huge water stain on the ceiling. One elevator wasn’t operating (which is fine because that happens), the other one was filthy. Because I always look for the good in things this is not a typical post for me. I will say the water was hot in the shower and the shampoo, conditioner & body wash were great. Do not confuse this with the other Holiday Inn at the conference center that’s ranked #1. Same price and I’d imagine much better!

Rocky Start With A Pleasant Ending

I wanted to leave an honest review of my experience and share both the bad and good. This was my first time visiting Tyler, TX. My fiance and I live 3+ hr away (were visiting due to a medical appointment) and had requested an early check-in between 12:00p-1:00p. I put this on my booking request through booking.com and via a separate email. When we arrived around 12:30p, Gerardo (Front Desk) informed us that the type of room we had (King bed w.Jacuzzi tub) was not ready and the earliest check-in time would be between 1:30p-2:00p. He asked us for my number and said he would call if it was prepared before 3p. My fiance and I were not happy, especially since the parking lot didn't have a lot of vehicles but we decide to grab a bite to eat and get familiar with the area.  We never received a call. We arrived back a little after 3p. Audra (Front Desk) was very pleasant and checked us into room 200. When inspecting the bathroom it had about 3 strands of hair in the tub. This made me feel as though the entire room may not be clean. Audra asked to see the room and accompanied me. Audra gave me a choice of two identical rooms that were available and moved us to another room (#400). It was not up to par. Jessica (housekeeping) showed me Rm 300, which was nice and Audra made the changes.  I really felt as though Gerardo didn't want to honor early check-in even though my instinct told me a room was available. Anyone who has made a long-distance road just wants to feel welcome after a long drive. Plus, I have PLantar Fascitis that had flared up, and was exhausted with all the back and forth to get into an acceptable room. I am not a hard-to-please guest and was trying my best to make both Audra and Jessica feel at ease too.  Having to keep switching rooms was no fun but I was really appreciative of both Audra and Jessica for being so understanding and going beyond the call of duty to ensure we had a comfortable stay. The next day Gerardo was at the front desk. He asked me how my stay was (it didn't appear he remembered me from the day before). I shared with him it was okay and he inquired more. I shared concerning the hair in the tub and that's when he apologized. Gerardo gave us a credit upon checkout, which I didn't demand beforehand. At that moment, I saw he was genuine and truly cared that I had a rocky start. I can say that the trip ended pleasantly. Room 300 was very clean (the best out of the three I saw), the bed was comfortable, and the hotel was quiet. One elevator wasn't working at the time of my stay. I didn't eat breakfast but saw they were serving hot breakfast with the standard cereal, muffins, and fruits.

They cancelled my reservation

This past weekend was graduation weekend. I made reservations at Holiday Inn Tyler South, and their flights were delayed. I called and talked to the manager, who assured me that they would be charged the first night even if we were not there but that I was still going to be able to have the reservation for the graduation weekend. When we arrived at the property, they had sold our rooms and had no rooms left. We requested a refund, and the manager hasn't been on the property since Friday morning. They did nothing to help and told us good luck finding rooms since it is graduation weekend. They don't even want to give me proof that they canceled my reservation and charged me $895.55 after they canceled our reservation, plus had to find a different location to stay and paid to stay at a different hotel. I definitely do not recommend you to stay at the Holiday Inn Tyler South. They are unwilling to fix their own mistakes and are willing to take advantage of people when they know they have no other options.

Have stayed here multiple weeks. The customer service is very good. Victoria, Jessica and Alexis are all great at their jobs. The rooms are very comfortable and is conveniently located on the loop close to everything.

This is by far the nastiest Holiday Inn I've ever stayed in a reservation was for a double queen room they were sold out and give us a king which is fine normally but we have 2 children with us and needed the second bed the resolution was telling us that the couch in our room was a fold out bed my husband put sheets on it the first night and my son slept in it but when I took the sheets off the next day to put it away this is what the mattress looks like I don't know how this is not a health violation and this place is not shut down. It also looks like someone threw up down the side of the bed and on the wall and it's never been cleaned and is molding., if I could give them zero stars I would
