A cozy winter retreat- perfect for any season

We stayed at the Brunswick Hotel for a girls weekend. After shopping in Freeport the hotel was easy to get to and had plenty of convenient parking. Its right downtown Brunswick, convenient to the cute shops and restaurants the community has to offer. I received a text the morning of check-in asking how they could make our stay perfect, which was a really nice touch. The front desk staff was just as friendly and was helpful in getting us settled. The lobby was warm and welcoming on the freezing winter day with a large fire roaring. There were also cookies, tea and coffee laid out for guests to enjoy. The room was large and very clean. It was great to find a Keurig, microwave and a mini fridge all included in the room, something that doesn’t seem all that common anymore. The beds were super comfy with surprisingly good pillows. The hotel has a great restaurant off the lobby, definitely check that out. It was too cold for us but I would love to come back and check out the patio they have. I would recommend this hotel for any type of traveler and will definitely return.

Just a few steps from the Downeaster Train station

We've stayed here twice and enjoy it very much. Just steps from the train station, its's so convenient if you don't have a car. We enjoyed ALL of the staff who are friendly and helpful. We had a very comfortable suite with a handicap accessible bathroom with lots of grab bars however they do have 1 room with a roll-in shower. We ate a the quaint and romantic restaurant, loved the ambiance, nice live dinner music and good food. They have a continental breakfast, no hot food but adequate. Cookies in the lobby everyday from 4pm till about 8pm.

The hostess at checkin was incredibly nice and offered great local food recommendations. The room was spacious and very comfortable. I will certainly stay with them again if my travels takes me through Maine again.

A Nice Welcoming Hotel

The hotel staff was extremely friendly helpful, and welcoming. The two sitting areas, each with its own fireplace, was a huge plus. The room was spacious and clean. We are looking forward to returning in warmer weather to experience the restaurant (as it was closed this past Saturday and Sunday night) and the patio

I hate leaving bad reviews. The place seemed like a good deal, conveniently located, and reasonable off season pricing. I arrived at 8:30 (with 9:00 closing time for Noble, the onsite restaurant) I thought I could grab a bite after 8 hrs driving. Arrive at the restaurant, say 8:40 - and 10 minutes later, by the time the server found me, I'm informed the grill shut down. Zero actual meals available. Would have been nice to be forewarned, as there are many Brunswick options I could have made by 9:00 closing. In any case, maybe being hangry makes my pissy, but...skimpy beets appetizer, and dessert, and a glass of wine. $60 with tip. No basket of bread? In the end, I ate here once before. I did actually get a meal one previous time I stayed here. The food is overpriced and sub par. And now the grill shut down policy, without warning, has me typing a crap review. Why not just close at 8:30 so people can make a decision to get food by 9:00 elsewhere. Front desk staff was apologetic and helpful - pointing to a plate of cookies. And suggesting Door Dash. No vending machine. I won't be staying here again.
