Housekeepers Knocking/Soundproofing problems
First, the Hotel is extremely nice. The front desk staff was great, but lack on follow up. The biggest problem is the housekeeping start knocking on doors at 8:30am to clean room, yet check out isn't till noon. Lack of communication with front desk. We had 2 reservations which we told front desk at check in, and housekeeping still knocking at 8:30am trying to wake us up. Yet during COVID 19 they don't clean rooms, which we were completely fine with. Soundproofing is horrible you can hear every noice outside, next room over, hallway, above & below you. You hear every sneeze, step, & snore. Bad/Cheap design on designers & owners. Best thing was the Showers! I'm a loyal Marriott guest.
Not what we asked for but they tried to make good
Order two rooms with kings got there and they only had queens over booked. So we took them anyway. Hotel was clean, manager was nice but the problem came in the middle of the night someone tried to get into our room. Scary. When I told the front desk in the morning after not going back to sleep, she apologized and said it was the front desks mistake they needed to see if the room was indeed taken. Hello,,,,,call the room wait till morning. Very disturbing spoke with manager and he did apologize and said they never should,have done that, but it doesn’t help much when your tired and wanted a good night sleep
Fine for a night
We had booked a room here as a stop off point on our journey from New Orleans to Orlando though as we didn’t arrive until 7pm and left at 9am the following morning we didn’t see much of the surrounding area. Large car park outside and then a quick pick up of our room key (had checked in online) and we were soon up in our room on the 4th floor. Room itself was clean and comfortable though decor seemed a little dated. Bathroom had been modernised and was great with a good sized shower. Breakfast was poor - we had stayed at a other Marriott 2 days earlier in Navarre Beach and there was such a large difference in the way essentially the same breakfast was delivered. All the cooked items were very overcooked, the juices were watery and the toaster only toasted on one side of the bread! Quick check out.
Insulted by the front desk host and snubbed by the manager!!
Insulted at check in by the host..and not allowed to check in until the party making the original reservation was present. While traveling for Business in the area, my business associate with whom I was to meet up with made a reservation for two rooms, one of which was to be for myself. At check in the host denied my check in to the room after presenting her with my identification and credit card, because the party making the reservation was not present.. What matter does that make.... I have identification and payment!!!!... The Host then insulted me by saying I could just be anyone off the street that may have overheard the booking and tried to get into the room.... Really with an ID and a credit card standing there before you with other people around your saying I could be someone off the street trying to steal into a room!!! I'm a business person I'm not someone off the street and If I looked like someone off the street that is where the insult comes in. The Act gets better, because the manager who was within earshot of the whole thing said absolutely nothing nor did he try to intervene in the situation. So there I waited quite and patient in the lobby for until the person making the reservation arrived an hour later. I've been traveling for 30+ years and never in my all that time having made reservations for other traveling with me or for those that I was to meet up with, has anything this completely STUPID occurred. If this is truly the hotel policy then I will be advising all my many associates in the Paper Industry to avoid Marriott properties. Trust me on that..
Location was easy to get to from many main highways. Also easy to find yet away from main hub of heavy tourist traffic. Plenty of free parking. Nice big rooms with comfy bed. Excellent breakfast. Easy check in/out. Friendly staff.
