If only the window could be opened

I had a single night here and it was satisfactory. Located about 400 meters from Utsunomiya, this little hotel is clean and convenient. Of course the room was small as was the price, but that was fine. The staff were fine. I was a bit annoyed that the room's window could not be opened and the air con controls were a bit confusing but through trial and error, the air con was sorted. There are probably similar hotels a bit closer to the station but this was fine.

Didn't expect much and it was a basic business hotel. No English spoken but that wasn't a problem. Excellent staff. Real issues are no smoking room availability and the horrible, terribly uncomfortable beds. You could actually feel the springs through the top of the mattress... absolutely horrible and the only reason I recommend you stay elsewhere. A bad mattress in a hotel is like bad food in a restaurant.

We stayed here for 1 night as a last minute booking. It's a quick walk from the station, so location wise was great for our stop over. We are non-smokers and all they had available was a smoking room - we really noticed the smoke smell, it was over powering. All the decor in our room was yellowed. The room was basically clean and comfy, but the smoke smell was not nice. If you're a non smoker either avoid this hotel or see if they have a non-smoking room.

10 min from Utsunomiya Sta. by walk. Clean bed, room items, helpful stuff. You can comfort at Utsunomiya. You can choice Japanese style breakfast. Its simple too but delicious. Free coffee and newspaper at entrance. Save your money.

Great budget stay in Japan's "Gyoza City"

We spent 1 night here in order to partake of famous Gyoza in Utsunomiya. Very fun! - Hotel is like a Holiday Inn in the US: very straightforward, clean, excellent value. - Great location: a 7-minute walk from the Utsunomiya JR station, along one big straight road. - The rooms were large by Japanese standards, immaculate of course, with in-room full bathrooms and great water pressure. Comfortable beds with nice linens. - Fast, free wired internet. - Low-cost and easy to navigate parking, even if you don't speak Japanese - Breakfast was 100% Japanese, but plentiful and tasty. Reception people speak limited English, but it's very straightforward. - Super quiet.
