Let's say that I never book next to a bus terminal again?

Avaliou em 5 de setembro de 2021

The rooms are much nicer than the photo I see here on TripAdvisor but they are not as nice as they show on the booking sites for presentation. They are very run down, worn out, and less spacious. They do have a balcony and a sliding doorcthat opens to that balcony. The beds are very firm but good, the pillows horrible and cheap. Housekeeping is doing a great job, the rooms are very clean. Public areas in the lobby are also very clean and there the hotel looks modern and trendy. A good restaurant included. But once you leave the lobby and go up to the rooms you kind of end up in a "ghetto feeling" of drainage, leaking pipes, wires, almost dead plants, people hanging in the passageways, drinking beer, kids running around, women screaming and even fighting. I felt I was in one of those New York ghetto movies, especially when my room was on the fourth floor. I guess that is all due to the location next to the bus terminal, it is coming and going of people. Later in my stay,, they moved me to the second floor and that was much better, fewer people hanging around and screaming till late at night, you could still hear them because the whole building is open and echoes, but it was background noise. In my room on the second floor, the wifi connection was worse. (214) The hotel offers nice hot showers, clean rooms, room service, (the downside of that is a lot of plates with leftover food is in the hallways) and is next to the bus station. Prices for walk-in guests seem cheaper than for people booking through booking dot com, but that might be my interpretation, maybe the prices at the front desk are without taxes.....but we paid 150 pesos per room per night more than those prices and we had a so-called super deal. The hotel staff is super friendly and willing to make you as comfortable as possible, check-in and check-out was fast. huge coverend parking, COVID rules and regulations: Staff wears masks, gel on entrance but self service, staff does not make guests aware of wearing masks in public areas, so there were a lot of people about without a mask. Also in the elevator. I doubt this hotel follows governement rules for sanitizing rooms and bedlinnen and such. Remote was not covered in plastic and cleaning was done fast and efficient but not according to a health plan.

quiet even next to the bus station

King sized room on the 4th floor was quiet and clean, good sized compared to some others we've stayed in, a little worn. good air conditioning. small balcony. Free wifi. Cost to taxi to the zocalo was $40 pesos.

Excellent location and value

This is my go-to hotel whenever I am in Veracruz, whether I am traveling by car or bus. The location is great, literally across the street from the bus station. On October 2, 2017, I paid 400 pesos for a room with two double beds. There are sometimes cheaper rooms available. They let me check in at 6:00 a.m. on Monday and I didn't have to check out until 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. There is air conditioning, cable TV, wifi, and free drinking water on every floor. The cafe in the lobby has great food and there is also a wide variety of other dining options within a block or two.
