The Hotel that forgot Covid
Avaliou em 10 de Setembro de 2021
The facilities are very good and I would normally highly recommend it. There are signs posted saying those who have not been vaccinated should follow CDC guidelines. Unfortunately, their staff doesn't. When I asked at the front desk I was informed the manager told the staff it was up to each person to decide whether to wear one or not. He did mention he was not vaccinated. Since he was young had contact with many people, I doubt he realized it was NOT about protecting him, but all their guests. I never saw any staff member wearing a mask over several days. Surprised their is no corporate policy on health related issues.
Best hotel in town!

This is one of the best hotels we've stayed in since our trip started in July! Clean, friendly, efficient, and well-priced. The rooms are roomy, the shower, including water pressure, was a God-send after hiking all day at Dinosaur Monument Park. Breakfast includes oatmeal, waffles, eggs, fried potatoes with peppers & sausage, and all the others (yogurt, cereal, muffins, etc). Enough choices for everyone. So nice, we decided to stay an extra day! The only downside is the couch---it is very hard, like a piece of Flintstones furniture. Other than that, it was a great stay!
Very comfortable stay

Great location and nice hotel. Staff was very helpful. Nice room no issues. Any time we had a question they were great to help us. Breakfast was good and they kept everything clean and in order. I would stay here again. Very nice hotel. Beautiful area around this town.
Good, but no better than the nearby TownePlace

The property is slightly dated. But the people there try very hard to make it work. Room is clean and tidy. Everything works fine. Breakfast is back to normal. I only wish that there is more COVID protection around.
Should be five

Many easily fixable things could raise my rating.
This Marriott is practicing hygiene theater. There is one small sign saying if you are fully vaccinated no mask is needed. 95% of the guests did not wear masks. The desk clerks wore them sometimes when someone walked directly in front of them.
There was no water or floor pads in the fitness room. The water fountains were turned off. There were signs everywhere to wear a mask and socially distance. The check-in desk had a 4 foot by 12 foot semi-circle plastic shield. There was no channel guide list in the room because of COVID.
But the breakfast area was fully open. The manager agreed it was dumb with no science to support tactile infections. She blamed Corporate.
Location: On the south side of town. Walking distance to a Mexican café and a Subway. Easy driving distance to a multitude of fast food outlets and Walmart.
Property: The property is 8 years old. It has a modern looking lobby. The breakfast area is in the lobby area. There are no newspapers available. See channel guide comment under Room.
Staff: The staff is quite young and inexperienced. Beyond knowing the check=in speech, they seem under-trained. They were apologetic about the shortcomings.
Room: We had a king suite. It is large with a separated sitting area with the desk area. The couch/sofa bed is perpendicular to the TV; not ideal. There is a toilet /sink room separate from the shower and vanity. Great Marriott mattress. It was clean and adequately furnished/decorated.
The cable TV company did not provide a channel guide with listings information. With no newspaper available, we had to do an internet search to see what was coming on. A piece of paper with the channels listed was delivered upon request. COVOD hygiene theater again.
Noise was minimal.
Price: Very good at around $150.
Breakfast: Weak. The powdered scrambled eggs were dry and crumbly. They were difficult to eat with a fork. Every other day they have a concoction of potatoes, peppers and a bit of crumbled sausage instead of meat. There is no granola or regular bread available. No waffles.
The worker was overwhelmed. At one point there were no spoons, plates or bananas. At another point both coffee urns were empty. While the worker was harried the desk clerk and manager stood with nothing to do.
Business Center: It is located in a small alcove out of the way. Some privacy. There is one computer and one printer. Unbelievably, the computer does not support g-mail.
Fitness Center: Two treadmills, one elliptical, one recumbent bike, and dumb bells. The 15 lbs dumb bell is missing. There was no water, water cups or floor pads due to COVID.
