Very nice hotel and golf: great facilities!
We had a very nice stay at the hotel (1 week) and played golf on 4 days. Hotel is conveniently located next to golf and close to the sea. In house services are good: breakfast, dinner, and also housekeeping. Reception/reservation services are excellent. Quiet location but close to the nice town of Lecce. Interesting good maintained golf course.
A Week Visiting Cities in Puglia
What an oasis of calm, well off the beaten track. Clearly their main clientele are golfers, but it is a fine base from which to visit numerous towns throughout Puglia. Really friendly staff for whom nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are a highlight, spacious with lots of room and each with their own individual balcony. We did get to meet the main manager, who was a trainee at Artimino (near Firenze) which was our destination for our first two group trips to Italy, in 2013 and 2016. Did not make as much use as we should, but loved the Sauna, Steam Room, Turkish bath complex. Breakfasts were lovely, only item missing was the bananas. There on one day, but not the other six? That said, the highlight for me was the freshly brewed Macchiato. Fabulous. Only way to start my day. We had our own dedicated table for the evening meals for our group of 12. Great service. An alternative is the great family run restaurant, Minuti Piaceri, in Acaia (see separate review). Just 20 minutes walk, or 3 minutes by car. We enjoyed one lunch and one dinner there. We are all photographers, so we appreciated the prints in our rooms. That said, as black and white printers we were concerned about the over production. Lots of blocked up shadow areas. You would not expect the bedrooms to be too hot in the first week of October. We found the best solution was to leave the Patio Door open and drape the net curtain over it such that the mosquitoes could not find their way in. And also worth keeping the bathroom door shut, as the heated towel rail was enough to raise the temperature in the bedroom. A minor point, but the metal cover to the toilet roll was surprisingly noisy! Not what you need for nocturnal visits. Fortunately if you remove the toilet roll the cover can drop down out of the way and then the toilet roll can be replaced. Perfect... The location is so remote that the nights are really restful. Little noise from the road which runs down to the village of Acaia. About the only sound you can hear comes from the ornamental fountains which appear to run 24 x 7 So a fine complex, worth a visit for non golfers who love Italian towns and villages. Apart from Lecce, many are relatively unspoilt, especially if you go a street or two back from the main roads. Heavenly. Go visit and see a different face of Italy. A relatively poor part of the country, but as such offers exceptionally good value to the visitors. Hayling Seagoon
Lovely resort and beach
Nice place. Expansive. Rooms surround the pool area and the restaurant for evening meals is across the way in a separate building. The golf course is challenging although greens not in great shape. The local beach is accessible by a shuttle bus and is rustic and set in front of the dunes. V good beach bar restaurant . Breakfast first class. Without a car you are a captive audience. Shuttle is available to local town which is gorgeous at night and a couple of really good restaurants. The local marina at san foca will cost over 100 euros for a return trip but has some good restaurants. Also to note. This area is apparently well known for its mosquitoes. Survived the first day or so then my bites had bites! Attenti alla zanzara!
