This hotel has a roach problem (manager Jeffery confirmed)

Just left the home2suites in Victorville CA. Arrived late/early at around 3am, and they were accommodating and check-in was quick and easy. The room was a queen suite, and everything looked updated and pretty stylish and clean. The fan didn't work in the bathroom, and the door didn't have a catch mechanism to close, but all in all it was a pretty standard hotel room. On our second night, though, around midnight we saw a GIANT ROACH crawl from the kitchen and towards the bed (pictured). My boyfriend killed it, and went to guest services to let them know. On the way, we discovered another dead roach on the carpet by the elevators (also pictured). At guest services, they said they'd let the manager know, and that the manager would call in the morning. We didn't sleep a wink now that we were aware of the roach situation. In the morning, no manager called. My boyfriend went down at 10:30am and asked to speak to the manager. A manager named Jeffery apologized, and stated that Terminex told them there was nothing to be done about the roaches because "it's the desert." I'm born and raised here in the high desert and have never seen a cockroach. We certainly would not have paid $200 per night for 3 nights to stay at a hotel that knows the rooms have roaches, but don't disclose. They cancelled our last night at our request, and said we would need to be out of the room in 20 minutes or we'd be charged in full. My boyfriend asked if we could at least have a late check-out, due to circumstances. Jeffrey told him, simply, "no." Long story, short, dirty hotel rooms, poor customer service and troubleshooting, and apparently a roach infestation that can't be helped. If you book a room here, bring a can of Raid.

pros & cons
- If Hilton cares so much about its clients, and cleans so intently since COVID, why is the morning STAFF NOT WEARING MASKS? This clearly sets the tone for the 2/3 of the people in the lobby at breakfast who entered and were moving about without masks. Many with children. (Even if you anti whatever, consideration for others?)
-There is definite noise from the freeway and there seem to be no quiet rooms. - It is NOT TERRIBLE but does exist. Using the a/c with fan running all the time did help.
-Our room ; 412 smelled of either and/or feet and cheese crackers. The hotel does not have febreeze and although I do not like using it, I was given a can of Lysol which I used Liberally. Did not help.
-Bathroom door is a pocket door, heavy and lacking a pull anywhere. This means that if you are traveling with another person, there is no way to easily and quietly open and close the door at night without waking the other. In addition, the bathroom has 3 lights, all on the same switch which means there is no low light but tons of wonderful lighting unwanted in the middle of the night.
-Friendly and helpful Staff
-The best shower pressure anywhere
-Excellent coffee with creamer or milk
-The hotlel is on the new side so the rooms are not tired or worn but fresh and crisp.
-a lovely kitchenette.

Staff and guests do not follow mask guidelines set by local, state authorities. Felt uncomfortable using elevator or eating complimentary breakfast. Sometimes there were parties in the patio area but generally ended early enough not to interfere with sleep. ATT cellular service was horrible, even though WiFi service was through ATT.

Very nice room and would stay in the future, and will check out other locations as well. I also like the way the hotel is handling the current pandemic situation makes you feel safer when travelling at this time

Everything in the room is well thought out. I also like the cleanliness of their hotel. They paid attention to the sanitation of their surroundings. I loved that they offered the same hair dryer I’m using at home.
