Hotel is in Central vinalis, and located in a central position. Rooms are clean and tidy, reception staff have a decent knowledge of English, but that is it. Rest of the staff, only follow order from main reception, as if they have no brains. There is heavy construction work going on, so from 9am till 7pm, its constant banging. Because of the central location, don't expect to get to sleep until after 2am, as across the road is a club, which thumps out music till 2am, and the crowd is rowdy, so if you have a room facing the road , forget about sleeping. Last day, hotel is full, no tables at breakfast, staff not interested, until you talk to reception, until then nothing. As it is one of the only hotels here, then you don't have a choice. Disappointed.
Much better than we expected

We had been discouraged from government run hotels so we’re a bit anxious I have to say. It excellent!! Lovely reception, great room (ask for the back of the hotel away from the square!) great air con, spacious room, nice en-suite with the best shower ever. Nice toiletries and all spotlessly clean. Couldn’t fault it. Breakfasts were good, with choice! Great location. Stayed two nights and could have stayed longer.
yet to be fully finished

The location was very good, but the rooms were not great at all and part of the hotel seemed still under construction or renovation when I was there, which was over a year ago--so things might have improved since.. With or without construction being finished, make sure you do not get a room on the ground floor facing the street--because it'll feel like you're sleeping on the street! And it's a noisy and highly polluted (car and truck fumes) street! The room was very small and quite scarce looking. The breakfast, which was included with the room, was a little bit of a joke--you're better off eating somewhere else.
Great central location but very noisy, especially on Saturday night, a few insects

If you are looking for somewhere quiet to get a good night's sleep, this may not be a good choice for you. Most of the rooms faced either a noisy street or opened right onto the noisy open-air lobby/restaurant area. On Saturday night there's a street party that goes until about 2 am with extremely loud music on the street right in front of the hotel, and on other nights I could hear music from the nearby salsa bar inside my room, across the street, until midnight. Otherwise, this is a good hotel and very modern by Cuban standards. The location is literally right on the main square, with lots of restaurants, bars and shops within a block or two away. There's a wrap-around covered porch with lots of outdoor chairs. The room was spacious and clean with lots of extras including TV, hair dryer, toiletries, good A/C, plenty of hot water, a phone and plenty of outlets. The only problem I had with my room was quite a few mosquitos inside, plus a few tiny ants and one or two spiders. I managed to kill all the mosquitos the first night, but the next day there were several in the room again - probably because the door was open while the room was cleaned. I had several bites after staying 2 nights. The concierge & staff were very friendly & helpful. The included breakfast was NOT just a buffet - you ordered from a full breakfast menu. The breakfast food was fresh and good, but waiting your turn to order & for the food to be cooked meant breakfast took a few minutes longer than it would have at a buffet. Overall, I enjoyed my stay, but I don't think I would have been comfortable in the lobby or restaurant when the weather was any warmer (I was there in January), and the mosquitos are probably even worse when it warms up. I always travel with earplugs and I use a white noise app on my phone, so I was able to sleep through the noise, but several others in our group said they got little sleep, especially on Saturday night. Wi-fi was not free, but cost only about $1 per hour, and it worked inside my room (ground floor, right off the lobby).
Disappointing breakfast and service

We have just stayed at this hotel for 3 migbts and have not been impressed. The exterior is very nice and it's one of the original buildings on Vinales right in the centre of the main thoroughfare, which is both a positive and negative as it means its pretty noisy at night. The rooms themselves are also OK and have good walk in showers in the bathroom although they are furnished with two small doubles which is not great if you are a couple. Housekeeping was very good and the room was very clean. We were allocated a room at the back of the hotel. These rooms are darker and have no outdoor seating. We were told we were given this room because we arrived on a Saturday and the music in the street is very loud until 3am. However, we would have preferred to be given a choice. Nevertheless, its the service in the hotel and especially the breakfast which lets it down. Firstly its very soulless and impersonal and we were not offered any assistance during our stay or asked if everything was OK. Secondly breakfast was very poor. First morning there were no cups so we couldn't have coffee and there were only 16 of us at breakfast total! Nothing was fresh and the juice was from a carton. The fruit plates and so called pastry selection (chocolate cake with a cream filling) were in a central fridge and used repeatedly for the three mornings we were there, with some tiny muffin cakes left on the side uncovered and crawling with ants. Service was also super slow. We also experienced a power cut one evening followed by no water for about an hour the following morning when we needed to leave early. This hotel is not cheap for Vinales at around 75/80 CUC per night and IMO does not offer good value. I witnessed kitchen staff scooping pickles put of large jars with their bare hands and eating cereal directly from the box at the same time as putting it in guests bowls.
