Stayed for anniversary, left after one night
Was highly disappointed in this Comfort Suites. At arrival, not one person in the lobby not even the staff were practicing covid safety with masks or enforcing it with guests. We were not told the status of breakfast (whether their was one or not), nor were we told about guest ammenities like gym or pool. We understand they are shut down for cleanliness issues but it does not state that on the webiste. The choice website says it is up the discretion of the hotel, so we did not know for sure until we arrived. The room was oddly designed and cold (in feeling not temperature). The Couch right as you walk in still had glitter from a previous guest, the sheets in the room had a stain we couldnt identify and the bed skirt also had discolored stains. The drapes were falling down, the tv remote did not function in the "living room area" and the bathroom fixtures were ucovered. We were exausted from the trip and after a restless night on an ancient bed (creaked when you made the slightest move) we called in the morning to discuss the problems we had with the room. The Front desk agent did apologize but was unable to offer any compensation AND in fact had to call me back after discussiong anything with management. We had a second night and were on the fence as to whether we move rooms or move hotels. When they were not able to accomodate us in the slightest we decided to leave the property for another Comfort suites near by. The lady at check out in the morning was less formally attired than the 2 in the evening and STILL DIDNT HAVE A MASK. Do not stay here.
Not bad and you “don’t” get what you pay for...
Passing thru for 1 night and looking for an inexpensive clean option to get some sleep and keep going. Staff polite and friendly but though it’s still advertised there is no breakfast( nothing, not even an apple lol). Room was clean but worn; fairly quiet even though there are many, many “line” workers and construction vehicles(not that they are automatically noisy). In house restaurant closed but if you don’t mind pizza or Chinese food delivery, you’re all set. No frig on room but there are safes. Ok for the price but nothing spectacular; hunt around; there ARE lots of other places nearby.
Gem
This hotel was our last stop on a 17 day trip to Florida and back. This was by far the nicest hotel we stayed at. It may be hard to find off the interstate without a GPS however it really was only a couple minutes. The location however was really ideal with lots of stores and restaurants close by. The hotel looked modern and very clean. There was an indoor pool and hot tub. The room had all matching granite tops on the furniture and bathroom surfaces. The bathroom was spacious with a standup shower and waterfall showerhead. The breakfast was the typical servings however a much cleaner and ample setting. The price through AARP was very good as well. If you aren't a member, try Trip Advisor or Hotels.com as their prices seemed good as well.
A very nice hotel
We stayed one night on our trip through Virginia. The room was very large. It had a sitting area with a couch and comfortable arm chair. The bathroom and shower were above average. The bedroom was very nice and the bed was extremely comfortable. This was one of the nicest rooms that we have stayed in in the last few years. The price was reasonable. The only negative was the free breakfast. The variety was limited and given how nice the room was I was expecting more from the breakfast. That, however, did not take away from what was a nice stay in a very nice hotel.
House-keeping THEFT ALERT!!!
THEFT ALERT, HOUSEKEEPING ‼️‼️ let me start by saying this was actually a very good hotel for the amenities and the friendly staff. I normally leave mostly good reviews... but I can't in this case. as you can see by my badges on TripAdvisor I have probably been in over a thousand hotels in my life... Traveling the Army for 30 almost years.. Stayed here near the end of January 2020, during a family emergency. So when I experienced the theft, two times... I feel obligated to write about it. when I came back to the room one day after a funeral... I noticed that my bags had look like they've been moved a little bit. sure as heck... ALL my medicines were stolen( they were labeled "pain pills" in Ziploc bags so I am assuming whoever took them probably thought it was good stuff like percocet or some type of Really good pain killer) Unfortunately for them it was just ibuprofen, Excedrin and Tylenol. When they got home and checked them out more thoroughly they probably were upset. They also stole though an entire bag of CBD, CBD pens and liquid... This was worth well over 200$‼️ And I'm going to guess they probably thought it was Cannabis.(thc).Because it looks like oil... And most people don't know the difference. But they took a stab at it. On my dime. Bottom line?this really hurt! Because I am 100% disabled veteran and that stuff they stole really helps with the pain. I know it's technically my fault for not putting it in the safe, but I would not think somebody (I can only assume housekeeping) would dig down to the bottom of my suitcase either. After exploring that, and ripping everything apart... I told the front desk... The girl basically told me in a nutshell "sorry for your loss there's nothing we can do". I know that the forms we sign when we enter the hotel say that they are not liable for loss. And I understand that and I have learned a valuable lesson. But here is a warning I want you to hear... After they did it once they attempted to do it twice. I set paper traps in the room and I could tell if things were moved around. When I came back the following day I noticed the closet had been opened and all of my drawers have been open and some things I put on my clothes were no longer there. Meaning whoever was cleaning my room was digging through my stuff. That just creeps me out. So I feel obligated to WARN THE PUBLIC. I know this is not a high-end hotel like five stars or anything. But I'll have to tell you I was frustrated with the way the front desk took care of it. They never mentioned they would talk to housekeeping or even look into it. They just said sorry. ONLY Positive Note: +++ The breakfast was good + the 2 girls who served it were very friendly. The people behind the counter were super helpful and fast during check in (NOT after the THEFT however) And everything else I was fine with especially the warm swimming pool and hot tub! But this review unfortunately is tainted because of theft. if you do decide on using this hotel, be very very careful with anything you consider valuable. Because there's a fox in The hen-house.
