Nice location and staff
Avaliou em 24 de agosto de 2020
The hotel is located near the old town and close to many shops and supermarket. Working staff are very welcoming and pleasant. Check in and out was smooth. Good WiFi and comfy beds. Easy to find parking place. Floor and bathroom need extra cleaning. The room in general will need renovation soon. Full equipped kitchen but extra stuff can be added such as iron equipment and kettle. The general impression was very good specially for those who spend the whole day out and need comfy place to sleep in a good location.

To expensive, poor service and facilities

Althoght the ;ocation is gine, close to the ferry, I have some serious comments. First of all, the appartment was very expensive. In addition, the service was poor. Fridge were dirty, some pans could not be used, so dirty the were. We had boohed for a an appartment with a separate bedroom but we got obe with one room for sleeping, cooking etc.Too bad..

Convenient, clean apartment hotel

We spent five nights at this hotel in early August. Approx 30-40 minutes walk from central Visby. Plenty of free parking outside. Good wifi. Small kitchenette with basic equipment (fridge, small freezer, microwave, coffee maker and standard utensils). Comfortable beds (only single beds available ie a double has 2 single beds). Sheets and towels were provided. 2-floor buildings. It was difficult to find out when the reception was open (nothing on Fb and no website) and their phone number is only on the booking confirmation. Make sure to call (or send message) and let them know your arrival time. We arrived on a Thursday and they were open between 4-5 PM only. Fast and efficient check-in by a very friendly guy. Judging by the posts here, they may not be there at all at other times, so check ahead of time. All in all a good hotel, but quite expensive (being August and Middle Age Week probably added considerably to the price!). Would stay again.

Good apartment in calm area

It was difficult to find accommodation in the middle of the summer in Visby and this apartment was one of the few available within a reasonable price range when we tried to book (looking for hotels, B&Bs and apartments). We were a bit hesitant considering some of the negative comments on TA, but we were positively surprised when we saw it. I had called in advance to get some information about check-in location and time and I was informed that they had a reception on site as part of the improvements for this accommodation. The man at the reception was very nice when we checked in and gave some recommendations of cycling destinations when we mentioned that we were going to rent bikes. In the apartment we first checked the equipment (in order not to be charged when leaving if something was missing already at our arrival), and found out that one piece of kitchen equipment was missing compared to the inventory list and one light bulb was broken in a bedside lamp. We went to the reception to report this and immediately received the missing piece of kitchen equipment and a new light bulb for the lamp. We were also informed that if we ran out of toilet paper we could get more from the reception (but kitchen paper towels were not included). In addition to the kitchen equipment (fridge, freezer, oven, microwave oven, stove, bowls, plates, glasses, cutlery etc) there was washing up liquid and a kitchen towel. The beds were arranged as single beds along two of the walls in an angle, which we found unpractical, so we rearranged them beside each other, similar to a double bed, which was much better. The beds were quite comfortable. There was also an armchair, a dining table with two chairs and a TV. The apartment was clean except for a bit of dust under the beds and armchair, which we probably noticed just because we moved them. The lamps were quite good and gave sufficient light. The size of the apartment was good for two people for a week, although it was not very large but fully sufficient. Wifi worked well. The bathroom had a shower, however not a shower cabin but only a shower curtain that did not reach the floor, which meant water splashing on the bathroom floor when having a shower. We got an apartment on the 2nd floor, which we had asked for, and it had a small balcony. The windows had curtains so we could keep the early morning light out. The apartment had its windows and balcony towards a residential area. The area was quiet and calm without traffic noise, but one night we heard other guests partying and making a lot of noise. You are supposed to bring your garbage yourself to the recycling and garbage containers placed within the area. There was free parking near the reception. Volontärgatan is 1 km from Österport (the Eastern gate), which is walking distance but we rented bikes during the entire week.

Convenient to town but pricey

The location of the apartment was handy for the town ( approx. 10-15 min walk). The apartment itself was clean, tidy & well maintained. Bedding & towels were included in the price & as we were staying for 8 nights both beds & towels were changed mid way. There was ample crockery & cutlery although as an Englishmen we could have done with an electric kettle as boiling water in a saucepan for a hot drink was a bit frustrating. Having read previous reviews before travelling I was under the impression that there was no reception area for the property & the keys would have to be picked up from another hotel in the town. This situation however has now changed & there is a reception area which isn't manned all of the time but was at the times we visited which on both occasions was 10.00. The gentlemen we dealt with were both friendly & very helpful. We had a problem where we weren't receiving a Wi-Fi connection but this was rectified by one of the guys visiting our room with us & sorting out the modem. After that no problem. We felt our stay of 8 nights was rather expensive at SEK15,920 & approx. £1,400) as the room was self catering.
