We stayed here as part of a Macs walking tour of the Pelion Peninsular for 2 nights at the start of the tour On the plus side the location is beautiful and dinner at the terrace resturant on both nights was superb . The pool was also a winner - like a resort and the pool staff were friendly and helpful The hotel itself is dated and in need of an update . The lady organising breakfast was a tyrant who would scold you for turning up a minute before 8am. The biggest down side was the local stray dogs who barked every time you arrived at the hotel and barked on and off all night Something really needs to be done about these dogs

Very nice point at the village. Incredible view to the city of Volos. Good condition of rooms. Enough parking for residents. Good covid meadures. Medium restaurant taste. Very nice service. Is the coverage of parking asbestos?? Hope not!

MONUMENTAL HOTEL

Like all the XENIA HOTELS,in Greece,were building from the Greek state in 1960s years,in the best place in every town,village or island.One of the bigger of them is and the XENIA PORTARIA HOTEL,in Pelion mountain,Portaria village.Everything is big,the surrounding area,the parking area,the pool area,the lobby ,and the superb view of the city of Volos and the sea(and don’t forget,is on the side of a mountain)Of course today don’t belong to the state,but is in very good condition,nice big rooms,all with big verandas(most of thems with magnificent sea view,and the rest Mountain View),big and good beds,nice bathrooms.The hotel offers good breakfast outside in veranda with sea and pool view (or inside).Excellent and smiling staff.Very bad Wi fi and very bad tv program.If you are not with own car,there is public bus stop,almost outside.And,finally,the room price is very convenient,for all those advantages.Always I return there or in Volos Palace in the city (the same property).

During a convention Excellent room facilities everything was there The rooms do not offer the best view but the restaurant had an incredible View to Vólos Easy parking nice breakfast I would definitely go back again

We attended a wedding at the hotel. The staff was helpful, the breakfast was good, and the view was lovely. The actual facility is old and needs some updating. The furniture in the rooms just looked old and worn. The hair dryer and shower were both dysfunctional, but sort of worked. The pool was nice. There are not a lot of options in the area, and I would stay again if I had to. It’s not a 5 star hotel, probably more like 3.
