Good

Excellent budget hotel

Good hotel. The room was a reasonable size considering that this is a budget hotel, the ensuite toilet and shower are small but adequate. It is a bit out of town but fine if you have a car (probably public transport is available nearby, I did not check). They don't have a restaurant but you can buy a frozen meal from reception and heat it in a microwave if you like (continental breakfast can also be bought, I didn't try it).

Good reception young lady but poor quality otherwise.

Very helpful receptionist but room very small with the VERY MINIMUM of facilities. One kettle, 2 coffee cups and some tea/coffee/milk sachets and that was about it. Tiny TV very slow and only two channels (Ch2 and Ch7). Toilet light/fan very noisy. Loud water leak droplet sound ALL NIGHT as water leaked from the air conditioner from the unit above and dropped onto the for air conditioner for our room. The main room light is a 1 metre fluro fitted vertically on the wall at the end of the bed but without a cover, so strong light into eyes while trying to watch TV from the bed as the bed is basically the only place from which to watch the TV. The light should have been fitted to the ceiling. I spoke to the owner/manager in the morning to express my concerns and he said he would "see what I can do". When my wife and I returned from sight-seeing late afternoon we found nothing had been done about the problems. The receptionist told us the light was the same in every room and the water leak was a common problem for all rooms on the ground floor when it rained. We left the IBIS (Watson) with a 50% refund for our booked 3 day stay. Now in a very comfortable apartment for not much more expense. Look for 4 stars award but not much more expensive.

An ok stay

Hotel is an ok stay for a short trip. Stayed here with a work friend, and booked a king room with bunk. Both of us were little hesitant to climb up the ladder up, but both made do with the extra comfy king bed. However the bunk wasn't made up and the mattress appeared to be a lot shorter than the bed frame itself. Location was good, bout 15 mins drive to get to we were going, and is conveniently located next to petrol station. Room was quiet, and surprisingly not cold either, didn't need to put on the air con. Water in shower could've been a little hotter.

Budget is right!

Stayed here two nights for a girls weekend to see the Jeffrey Smart exhibition. Photos clearly make the rooms look bigger because our room was tiny. Single file to get between the foot of the bed and the wall. No couch, if you want to watch the tiny TV you need to sit on the bed. "Bathroom" was a tiny, fully enclosed unit like you get in mining huts. No room to get dressed in there, in fact I wouldn't want to be bigger than a size 14 or you wouldn't fit! Was a bit dirty too with mould around the door, soap dish and wall hooks. First night I slept on the bunk and the mattress was like a hospital bed - hard and coated in vinyl. Got no sleep. Second night I shared the Queen bed with my friend and got some sleep. I've stayed in better hotels for less money. It's fine if you literally want a bed for the night, like you arrive at 8pm, sleep then leave at 7am as it has no creature comforts at all. Receptionist was really lovely. That's the only plus.
