Stay Away
Arrived on Thanksgiving evening to a cold room and stayed cold until the boiler was turned on Friday. Could not take a shower Friday morning it was so cold. Then on checkout there is a gentleman on duty that was very rude and would not give me a receipt for my stay. I will not stay there when visiting Waynesville.
Old but clean
We stayed in the Golfview section of this hotel. Our room was worn but clean and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was okay; good biscuits and coffee. The area is beautiful and the golf course was very nice.
Good for go,f and the view
The hotel is old, but it was clean and the view from our balcony overlooking the golf course and the Smokey Mountains was spectacular. They had free WiFi and a hot breakfast (nothing fancy, but good) with very nice servers. The bed was soft for me, but my husband loved it. The water was hot and the shower pressure was good. The room was very quiet and no outside light (which I love). Overall a nice stay for our two days of golfing. The course was very nice.
The INN itself is old & neglected. The location is specatular, mountain views.
This Inn is for sale and apparently the current owner is not spending a dime to keep it in good repair or up to date. Lounge & room furniture is OLD and uncomfortable. Beds & bedding are well used, poor fitted & worn. My mattress pad & bottom sheet came off the mattress each night as I slept. The Bar & Grill had decent food & drinks, the sparse breakfast was adequate but exactly the same each morning. Dry scrambled eggs, biscuits, grits, sausage. gravy. bacon. The advertised Spa hasn't been in business for a long time, is run down & a tarp on the roof. The pool is drained & not usable. The three 9 hole golf courses were in so-so condition. So sad because it could be a really great place to visit and stay. People that stayed "back in the day" had lots of good things to say about their stays. I would choose a different Inn or B&B next time. Loved the area and downtown Waynesville.
Rude staff
We had reservations to stay for three nights at this resort. With all of the restaurants closing due to covid 19 we were going to see if there was an option to reschedule our stay. The person that I spoke with was RITA. I started to explain the reason for my call and she cut me off mid-sentence and did not let me finish what I was saying. Needless to say when someone cuts another person off mid-sentence I feel that that is inappropriate. The conversation proceeded to get heated and when I told her that I think that it would be best for her next time to try and listen to a person out before cutting them off she hung up on me. With all that being said, once everything clears with covid 19 we would still like to visit Waynesville but will definitely be staying at this resort!!!!!
