Okay, but not up to expectations
The hotel room was decent at first. But several items annoyed me in the morning: - the hotel's website and confirmation still explicitly promise a warm breakfast, including waffles. Well, due to Covid they only offer a few prepackaged cereal options, muffins (high sugar), and a toaster for a few bagels, apples and bananas, one type of yogurt, that's it. I expected that they had updated their website and app by now, 6 months later, so this is misleading. - generally the room and hotel felt very clean, but the coffee machine and condiments in the hotel room were stored on the bottom shelf. Level with the carpet. This gets dusty and dirty from cleaning and just walking around. The microwave is on the shelf above, still very akward to access. What if someone has back problems, and isn't it also easy to miss when cleaning the room? - the water in the shower would not get warm, it was plain cold. They literally ran out of warm, let alone hot water.
Very nice property!
Hotel looks new! Had a line at check in - even though sign says masks required, 3 construction workers waiting in line were not wearing masks. Room was nice but had a chemical smell when we walked in. Not sure if it was masking a previous smoker or was spray for Covid. Let's hope it was for Covid. TV remote would not work - called the front desk and he came up and changed the batteries in the remote - very helpful attitude. Bathroom is for one person. Hotel sits up on a hill by Hwy 268. While it's not that busy, traffic stops for the stop light at the corner and it's noisy. Get a room on the other side away from the highway. Breakfast is limited and you can sit and eat.
Clean and Friendly
1. The place was clean, you could smell the cleaning supplies, but only for a moment. They were not overwhelming, and you soon forgot about them. 2. Black Out Blinds in the windows! The cassette type blinds that let NO light through. Fabulous to not have to bother with curtains that let that one beam through that hits you right in the face at 6am. This should be the standard for hotels. 3. Friendly desk clerks when checking in. They knew the area well, made a decent recommendation for dinner, and knew about the blue ridge parkway near by, even with tips for navigating it during the fall high season when it was bound to be a little busy. (it was, as Saturday as an absolutely gorgeous day)
Pretty good
Good clean hotel and what I expect from Hampton Inn. Rooms were of good size, AC and beds were comfortable, free internet was speedy. Convenient to local stores and restaurants including a quick diner across the street. Friendly service, would stay agian.
Excellent welcoming staff and accommodations
I want to thank Stephanie , Carla & Lee for providing wonderful service for our stay. The Hotel was remodeled a few years ago and looks nice. It is clean, quiet and comfortable. There is a breakfast of cereal , milk bagels and blueberry muffins and fruit and coffee and juice. The room was very nice and quiet. The staff was very helpful and pleasant. I highly recommend this hotel adn would advise other Hampton Inns to follow their model.
