My husband and I live in Southern CA & recently embarked on a 13 day road trip from VA to GA - inspired by historical sites and my love of Nicholas Sparks novels! Our 1st stop was Williamsburg and we cannot rave enough about our 3 night stay at the Cedars of Williamsburg Bed and Breakfast!. We stayed in the Patrick Henry room on the 3rd floor. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The highlight of the day throughout our stay was always breakfast when we were greeted by the super friendly (and hilarious) owner, Alex. The food was amazing - Belgian waffles, spinach quiche with baby shrimp & homemade banana bread - were all delicious and beautifully presented. The atmosphere was fun and cozy and we enjoyed mingling with the other guests over breakfast. Alex had one day off while we were there so Leroy took over and we were super impressed with his hospitality, friendliness and great dinner recommendations! If you plan to visit the college or Colonial Williamsburg, I'm not sure you could stay anywhere closer in proximity then Cedars - it was super close to everything. We loved everything about Cedars and hope to make back some day!
Perfect B&B Experience!

Our family had three rooms at this lovely B&B just a couple weeks ago. What a beautiful place to stay! The rooms of this historic home were very charming and so were our hosts Alex and Leroy. They were helpful with any questions we had about the area, activities to check out, history of the home and pretty much anything else we inquired about. The breakfasts were fantastic...kudos to the cooks...both of them! :) The location was great with everything we wanted to check out just a short drive away. The beds were really comfy and the rooms were clean. This was an all around great experience for our whole family. Thanks again to Alex and Leroy...you made our stay fun!

My husband and I planned a much needed, relaxing trip for just the two of us and The Cedars in Williamsburg was a part of our get away! We arrived at 5:30 pm and were immediately greeted by Leroy as we were getting out of our car. Leroy took our bags and showed us into the quaint red brick building. Once inside this beautiful historic house, Leroy asked us about our trip and inquired about our dinner plans, ready with suggestions and a map. It was an incredibly warm welcome. Our room was beautiful and it was evident that much love had been put into the decor. We met Mary, the chef, at breakfast the next morning and again could not get over the hospitality we were shown. The meal was delicious and plentiful all of the 4 mornings we stayed there. The fresh baked banana bread and muffins were outstanding as well as the quiche with shrimp, spinach and feta omelets, oatmeal with blueberries, bacon and more! The conversation was equally as good as well. Leroy and Mary are the epitome of southern hospitality. The rooms are quiet and relaxing after a long day of sightseeing. The bed and breakfast is a stones throw away from everything in Williamsburg. On the last day we got to meet Alex, the owner, who had been away with his family during our stay. We found Alex equally as warm and engaging. We had a wonderful stay and will return!
Convenient and Clean B&B

Great location and very clean. We were in the Juniper room which was quiet and peaceful, though there was not a fridge as described. Toiletries were not refilled, but linens were replaced. The parking situation was safe. We missed breakfast (from 8-9), but the banana bread smelled great!
Great location, incredible potential

I've stayed at many B&Bs so I've seen a lot. The Cedars is a lovely historic home with character. I feel like with a few more careful touches, it could be truly excellent. I stayed in the Jefferson Room and the bathroom was just OK - could use an update for sure (please replace the shower pan). I slept well in the bed, so that is a big plus. There was no comfortable chair in the room - to be comfortable, you basically have to sit on the bed all the time.
I was very disappointed by the grounds. The front area just screams out for some landscaping that would make a huge impact - and the back has what could be a very nice small trail and overlook patio that doesn't seem to be tended to as well. I was picturing sitting out there at night a bit. This seems to me to be the biggest gap in terms of making it pleasant inside and outside.
The breakfast was good but could be better - I am used to B&Bs certainly serving more food in the morning. I left pretty hungry.
The hosts are very nice and welcoming and with a few more touches and attention, it can really go to the next level.
