Very Good Accomodations
I stopped off for a night two years ago and again last night. Great friendly service from the time of check in to check out. Comfortable bed with clean room and a nice hot shower with great water pressure. Breakfast was awesome as always. Self service waffles and a wide variety of breakfast items. The young man behind the counter (I believe his name is Shaun) by himself and managed to clean, disinfect and hold down the fort all by himself. Until the next gentleman arrived for his shift in which I’m sure he did the same. Very impressed. I’m hoping this will continue to be my place to rest for the night each time. Thanks again for a great stay.
Generally ok but......
Selected this hotel based on location, my travel and value. Was ok but saw the bath had wall damage when I checked in, went to dinner and when I returned saw the toilet was leaking onto the bathroom floor. Always amazed when I see a situation in the room that housekeeping should have seen and the room taken out of service until repaired. No excuse fir this, especially in a newer property. There are other choices.
Front Desk
My husband checked in around 5 and he mentioned that the front desk person was very nice. When I went in the first thing I saw was a sign that said to wear a mask. Great! Then I saw the front desk person without a mask. His name was Shawn. I asked if NC requires wearing a mask? He responded, yes. Then I asked why he didn’t have one on, his reply was, I’m behind plexiglass and away from you. That means no one needs to wear a mask since there is plexiglas. WRONG!!!! Boy, was I disappointed. Most everyone else had on a mask, but if anyone did not have a mask on the front desk did not say anything. I was especially disappointed that a few people at breakfast did not wear a mask and no one told them differently. I must say they did have a very nice, clean and safe breakfast.
This place needs help.
After a friendly check-in things went down hill fast. The elevator was out of service and the in house phones did not work and the hallways had a bad odor. Our room was clean and had a comfortable bed and the internet was working after some hoops to jump through. I booked this room based on good reviews but found those not to be true. No elevator or phone for 2 months is unacceptable to rate this place any higher. A word of caution, look out for the amenity fees on your bill.
No WiFi, elevator or phone
When we arrived a sign was posted which said they had no wifi, elevators or phones, This was October and they said they were not working since August. I inquired as to why it wasn't indicated on the Choice website and they said it was, When I checked there was a notice in small print at the bottom of the page you register on. In fact, the front page states FREE WIFI as an amenity. The desk clerk was not at all apologetic and blamed us for not reading all of the information prior to booking. We were also given an accessible room which I did book by mistake, However the shower sprayed onto the bathroom floor. The room was undergoing renovations and had no pictures on the walls nor reading lights by the beds. The sad thing was had we needed an accessible room there was no elevator to get to our room on the second floor. Customer service is non-existent at the front desk. They all parroted the same responses to our concerns and had obviously been trained in how to reply to guests regarding these issues. We won't be staying there again.
