Desperation Stay

Avaliou em 2 de janeiro de 2023

I obtained a hiking/climbing permit for Mt. Saint Helens, and needed a place to stay nearby, last minute. The Lone Fir Resort up near Cougar was full, so Woodland was the next closest option for a early start, BUT the local standbys such as Best Western were already booked up. Enter OYO. I was able to book a room here last minute, and it's pretty easy to see why. My first impression of the property was all right, but the closer I looked, the funkier things got. It seems that this place may have been converted from a stand-alone motel to an OYO property relatively recently. OYO branded pillows and shams have been added to the decor, but everything else looks like it has been around for years - from the plumbing, to the beds, to the mirrors, to the mini-fridge. There is evidence of recent repairs and improvements, but many of them seem haphazard (e.g., obvious spackle, uneven paint, mismatched hardware on doors, etc.) The room seemed less clean than it could have been, and many aspects of the infrastructure seemed tired and dingy, rusty and worn. The room itself was OK, if a little tight on space. I remember having to be careful about which way I swung the door in, so as not to hit the armchair. The bed was reasonably comfortable. In addition, the staff in the front office were helpful enough. The location is fine, convenient to the highway and within walking distance of a few restaurants. The cost for my night's stay during the higher season of the summer months was over $150. That seems high considering the quality of the room and the rundown nature of the accommodations. I think this is more of a bargain motel, and not a hotel, and it should be priced as such.

Mold ring toilet bowl and perfume infused USED sheets

Avaliou em 16 de outubro de 2022

For the price, $129.19 before tax, for a single night stay, I didn’t expect a Four Seasons experience, but I expected clean facilities and fresh sheets that at least no one had slept in. However, when I arrived, I found myself in a room with a toilet that likely hadn’t been cleaned in months, moldy rings around the toilet bowl, and a set of USED sheets with a lovely but strong perfume infused into the center of the bed. Even though the perfume smelled nice, I was unwilling to sleep in a bed after a stranger had already used the sheets. The front desk promptly exchanged the sheets with me, and it took me little to no time to remake the bed. At least I can rest easy knowing my sheets are “clean.” The only one star goes to the front desk gentlemen, who had to exchange bedding with me at very late hours without any complaints.

Not the worse

The 2 stars is for the ease of booking a room. In all fairness it seems like this motel is trying to be better? The room was not very clean there was a towel with lipstick and mascara on it. staff should probably wash all the towels for new customers whether they look used or not and the bathroom smelled like strong urine. The floors were pretty dirty as well as the surfaces But it was nice they had laminate flooring. The bed was comfortable enough 👍 the road is really busy and noisy.

Needs some help

Avaliou em 31 de julho de 2022

The room needs some serious attention. Loose faucet at bathroom sink. Room is very dated from being a former motel 6. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Good location. If they give it the attention it needs it would be a good place. Overpriced for the condition of the room.

Impressed

Visiting family in Vancouver and wanted to stay a little bit outside of it so I can also visit Seattle. Never stayed at an OYO since it's a newer brand to me but it exceeded my expectations. The front desk clerk Amy was so friendly and ended up having a great experience chatting with her. Got into the rooms- and wow the beds!! I was expecting a spring mattress but this felt like one of those new trendy foam ones you see all over Costco. Not to mention the rooms were very clean. Everything I needed for a 2 night stay. Always coming back here.
