The hotel is located on the Highway Escarcega-Chetumal, very close to many interesting places, such as the Mayan sites of Calakmul, Chicanna and Xpujil. It is just 1,5 h away from the airport of Chetumal.

It was comfortable. As other reviewers mentioned they do seem to have many issues. We ran out of tap water in the morning. They had no wine, no choice in beer, many items missing off of the menu. On the other hand they cooled out beer & wine without a fuss. Wifi worked just fine in the lobby area. The children enjoyed the pool. It worked just as a a pitstop on the road to the bats & calakmul.
This fairly large establishment is not old, but slightly deteriorated and quite isolated. The rooms are large and comfortable with local antenna TV. It's certainly a quiet and tranquil place, perhaps the economical location closest to Calacmul.
Grubby and depressing... and empty!
Oddly reminiscent of that Eagles song, 'Hotel California', this hotel was almost frightening in its emptiness and isolation and air of dereliction. Two women hung out at the reception, one of whom was watching a video on youtube and took no notice of us whatsoever when we arrived. The other greeted us and sent us to a room faraway that smelled very musty, was not very clean, the plaster on the walls of the bathroom was falling apart and crumbling, there was no bottled water, no vending machines, no restaurant. Our room was next to the only other occupied room in the whole hotel complex, which seemed huge in its emptiness. Wifi only works in the lobby. The women in the lobby were not very helpful and left soon after we arrived. We had to get back in the car and drive to find the nearest restaurant. Luckily El Mirador Maya and, even better, Rio Bec Dreams, are nearby for food, lodging and friendliness in this isolated jungle landscape!!! Do not under any circumstances stay at the Debliz Xpujil hotel. It is genuinely horrible, which is sad because it has potential but feels like the place has been abandoned a long time ago.
This is a big hotel, but there were hardly any guests, so there was nothing open in the hotel, no lounge chairs at the pool, when we first arrived I thought the place was closed. I don't know if it's always like this or if we visited at the wrong time, it was a weird feeling haveing such a big place almost to ourselfs.
Not great but useful
This is a good option as a base to explore calakmul. However the cleanliness of the rooms and hotel is below average and the device is bad. We came in high season so maybe that is why they were over weakened. Bad internet and only in the lobby. Pool is ok but cold. Food is not very good. There are no many Otorrino around so for one or two nights it is ok. The price is fair. Tv only had two bad channels.
