Nicely located, but a bit disappointing

Small, boutique hotel in downtown Yakima. Friendly front desk staff. My room on the third floor had a door that did not shut all the way so had to really push to get it to close and lock. My room was beige and brown with a dim overhead light when I first walked in. The windows and ceilings are high so it feels like a basement bedroom. The room was very clean and breakfast is served at your door in the morning (two options). Make sure and ask for utensils. The entry to the parking lot is VERY narrow on a downhill slope so pay attention when driving in and out. I took my chances on not hitting anything--hard to see when going UP the ramp with a very narrow exit. The price was way too much for this place with other hotels right on the same block.

Beautiful historic hotel

Loved my stay at the Maison. Such a beautiful old historic hotel and excellently cared for with modern anemities and comforts. Staff was very friendly and helpful and several good restaurants and brew pubs nearby within walking distance.

I Will NOT Return

Full disclosure: I have worked at hotels in the past. I was very disappointed with this hotel, and will NOT a return guest. Check in: My husband and I stopped by the hotel prior to the standard check in time, knowing a room would most likely not be available. We were off to a private event, and wanted to get the paperwork and credit card authorization done ahead of time. We did not know when we would be returning to the hotel, and did not want the night shift to cancel our room. When we asked to "pre-register," the woman working (who was clearly new) told us that was not an option. I was frustrated until her trainer stepped in and said that was fine. The trainer showed the new hire how to authorize our card, and stated she would leave clear/detailed notes for the evening shift that we were not a no show. Notes did not happen. I would understand if the lobby was busy at the time we arrived, but we were the only ones present. I received a call at 9:30 pm, which thankfully I was able to answer, from someone at the front desk asking if I was still coming. I answered yes, and said that my credit card had been authorized earlier in the day, and that there were supposed to be notes on my account. The front desk person seemed surprised, and didn't see any notes (or didn't look). They were calling because the hotel was oversold ("we have a full hose tonight") and wanted my room. When my husband and I finally got back to the hotel, we were assigned a room on a low floor facing the main street. We could hear every car that drove by. We ordered the continental breakfast, which was a joke. My husband ordered the meat and cheese option, which was so disappointing and unappetizing he chose not to eat. Parking is cheap, ($10 per night), but the garage is shared with the hotel next door, and is chaotic at best. The only positive was that the room was clean.

The room was very clean and comfortable. Everything there that was needed. The delivery of a complementary breakfast was a special treat. Underground parking was nice. Would be very useful in the winter.

Oh my gosh! This was a great hotel experience. Quiet room. Couldn’t hear A thing from the street below. Comfortable mattress. Lobby is charming and was a great place to catch up on emails. Wonderfully warm helpful staff. Wine and appetizers in the evening. Couldn’t ask for anything more!!!!
