The most disgusting place ever!

This place deserves 0 stars. This place is disgusting. The room was dirty, the bedsheets were dirty. No towels, refrigerator was filthy. Very outdated and looks nothing like their photos. I couldn't even stay in the room due to be so nasty. The dirty sock found in the bed was prove that the sheets hadn't been changed along with the dirty on the sheets.Nobody at the front desk to assist with anything. Very poor customer service. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY STAYING HERE.

We booked a king room with river view online, paying in advance through PayPal. When we arrived at the location after a 5 1/2 hour drive, no one was in the office. We called the number posted and was directed to room 111. No one was there. We saw a housekeeper and went to ask her. As it turned out, our reserved room was given to someone else. We settled for a queen room due to the time of day and the distance we had driven. She gave us a key. There was no check in. We learned she was just there for this one day, filling in. This was the only time we saw a housekeeper on the premises during our 4 night stay. We walked into the room, stumbling over the hearth, which was just inside the entrance and covered by the carpet. This was dangerous as it stood about an inch above the floor and was not visible at a glance. The room had been cleaned, but it did not look like the pictures, and it was lacking many things. There was no place to hang your clothing. There was a wall rack, but no hangers. We went out and bought some. There was no facial tissue. Bought that too. There was no hairdryer, though the ad said one was furnished. (We asked what appeared to be the manager three times, over the course of our stay, for a hairdryer. Each time we were told he would take care of it. He never did. We bought one of those as well.) The bath was very small and unsightly. The caulking work appeared to have been done by a child. Literally. The main room had a surge protector strip attached to the wall. It was plugged into an inexpensive 8 to 10' extension cord. Plugged into the surge protector were the refrigerator, microwave and a lamp. This appears to be a violation of the fire codes. The hot water was literally hot enough to scald and would be dangerous for a child. I suspect this too is a code violation though I do not know for sure. Lighting, except for the windows during the day, was poor. During the course of our stay, the office was closed the majority of the time. Bags of trash from guest rooms were left on the sidewalk for days, as were towels. As I mentioned, there was no housekeeper on the premises while we were there. It was unkempt and unsightly. The positives were it is conveniently located about halfway between Cherokee and Bryson City on Hwy. 19. The bed was comfortable, and the deck with river view was excellent. The motel seems poorly managed and maintained to me. We would not return, nor recommend it to others. This was our first stay in n OYO managed motel and will likely be our last.

When I booked this I was totally ok with the fact they looked uniquely decorated. I imagined cabin style. That’s not what it was when we got there. The quilts had holes and very old. The window didn’t close. I went to open the locked door and all I had to do was push it open. So there would’ve been no locking of the door. The shower still at cleaning liquid with bugs in it. We went on a cold weekend. The heater hadn’t been turned on in quite sometime and I don’t believe it would’ve even worked. We also had to wait 45 minutes for the office staff to return so that we could check in. We ended up not staying the night and found another hotel nearby. This hotel needs major repairs and not suitable for families with small children.

Would not stay here again . We agree with all of the similar previous Responses, and regret we did not read them prior to booking, it’s deplorable, the worst place we ever stayed, it’s a work in progress that has a long way to go. The county should suspend their business license and that’s a call that should be made, until all is fixed. Bookings.com and others should not promote such a place until work is completed, inspected and approved. Toilet gurgled on and off throughout the night. There was a smell of sewage due to recent septic line repairs but manager advised they still leak, lol, we could tell and so do most others before us. Curtains were thread bare and were too short. Had to leave due to family emergency and was charged double for the night we had to cancel and that was with a 24 hour notice.

This place is a dump!!! Here are the issues we've experienced since Sunday. 1) On Sunday, 10/23, we couldn't check in until 6 p.m. because the rooms weren't ready. Finally got a room, but they didn't finish readying the room for another 30 minutes. 2) The front and back doors will not close without force. 3) The bathroom floor is extremely COLD. 4) On Monday, we asked for our bed to be made and the room cleaned. However, when we got back to our room late Monday evening, our room and bed were not clean. 5) Tuesday morning I had to go up to the office to get clean linens. 6) This evening (Wednesday 10/26), when we started to get a shower, there was no water pressure. The water was barely coming out of the sink and tub faucets, and wouldn't come out of the shower head at all. The water pressure has been a problem the whole stay. We will NEVER stay here again!!
