Hotel novo, bem decorado porém mal localizado
O hotel é novo e bem decorado.
mixed experience but quite positive overall
The hotel is brand new, fresh, clean. Good design. Good temperature control. The important thing to mind that, as in many small hotels, rooms are not of equal quality. Some may have great views, some may be nearly at the basement. In the high season, this may be a problem as there are not many possibilities to get a better room, at least no from the first night. There is a freshly constructed extension in front of the main building so the number of rooms nearly doubled for the same facilities. In the rush hours the spa may get full. The spa however exceeded my expectations, with the warm pool opening to the outdoors. Ski in / ski out is very convenient - although many hotels in the village a located very close to slopes. The ski room is very good. The flip side of being on the slope is that you need to drive to the village for dinner. We never had a problem with the small shuttle bus, with max 10 min wait. Dinner at the hotel is a good option though pricey (as it should be at the end of the day). Breakfast is quite diverse, service at breakfast is fast. It turns however that the best location in the breakfast room next to the windows is reserved for big tables and big parties so if you are a couple you will get a small table by the wall. The small management team is highly efficient, being able to quickly serve demanding guests in the morning rush hours, with ski passes, inquiries, check-out, etc. Overall quite good experience and good value.
Disappointed for a 4 star rating hotel
We just checked out today. We stayed here for a week booked two rooms as we are family of five. To be fair we love the location and also the room we had has a good view of the mountain and the other one has a balcony. I would rate the rooms 4 stars. Food at the restaurant is good as well as the service. Apart from that the rest is a bit disappointing. 1. Swimming pool and sauna is not free you need to pay 12 Euro per person per entry. Which I didn't realize when booking it otherwise i didn't booked here. Most 4 stars hotels we stayed this facilities are free for guests. 2. Reception needs to improve their service they are so incompetent for a 4 star rating hotel people expect better service but White Angel reception services is not up to standard for a 4 star rating hotel. When we arrived we need to wait a while to be checked in even though they have two person in the counter but look like their system only works for one person. Same thing happens when buying ski passes they make mistake issuing the passes but no apology but need to go back to the queue which is waste of time queuing back again. Checking out is worst - we paid the rooms in advanced prior to arrival but when we checked out we've been charged again for 7 days. We wasted our time waiting again until they sort our bill it out. 3. Shuttle bus - white Angel only has one van running up in down from hotel to the town from 8:30 to 7pm and has two driver taking turns to take guests to point A to B which is both moody sometimes they're nice sometimes and they're grumpy -one example I drop my ski gloves in one of the stopover near the church I ask the driver if he could stop a minute so I can go and check this time is just 100 yard away but he refused to stop he said he has other guests waiting at the hotel and running late . one of the driver started arguing with another car driver which is not a good site.
Nice but could improve
The hotel is located out of town but regular shuttles until 11pm helped. The drivers were very happy to help and cheerful. Ski in and out is on a red and a little tight but ok. My room was on the ground floor and next to reception, due to this it was noisey and the doors slammed all the time. It was clean and new but on arrival the electric emergency chord in the shower was off the wall, with all electricsl cables showing and the sink leaked badly. The shower was fixed straight away but the leak remained for the week which ment the bathroom floor was permanantly very wet. Breakfast was good apart from scrambled egg which were cold most days, easy fixed as you could order poached eggs or an omelette. Good choice of cold meats pastries and juices. And great coffee. Evening meal exspensive and better options in town so didnt use, All in all bit bad shame the hotel felt it didnt need to fix the leak as it was irritating. Not sure I would stay again due to this, would def not stay next to reception again.
