1st time I've stayed at this hotel and hopefully won't be the last. As soon as I walked into reception i knew I was in for a treat. A very warm welcome and very helpful receptionist. Once I got to my room I couldn't fault it at all, very nicely decorated and cleaned to a very high standard. An when I looked in the bathroom I couldn't wait to get in the shower. I don't normally have a meal as I travel early the next morning but I couldn't resist the menu. I opted for something light, a starter of ham hock terrine, an a portion of chunky chips. When it came it was beautifully presented and the chips were fantastic, I love home made chips and these didn't let me down. The terrine was possibly one of the best I have eaten( an I have sampled a lot over the years). The lad serving was very friendly and nothing was a trouble. I went to bed a very happy person, an had the best night sleep I've had in a while the night before going offshore. The only disappointment was my alarm went off at 4.30am an I had to leave the extremely comfy bed. Couldn't fault my stay at all, I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone, an it's location is ideal for airport and heliport. Hopefully it's in my price range again next time I'm going away. A⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
A bit more than I expected
Easy checking in to room 534, room looked ok although smelled a little musty as the ac only kicks on when you put your door key in the slot. Sheets and bathroom good and room on 5th floor was quiet. Breakfast good. Only issue is the little pile of human toe nails next to my bed between the headboard and nightstand. Really revolting and when I informed the staff on reception they hoped I wasn’t inconvenienced and would call housekeeping. I wasn’t inconvenience by the toenails. But I was disgusted and concerned about room cleanliness after that.
I stayed here for one night before catching flight from Dyce airport. As I checked in the reception staff were having issues with computer system but apologised and did not keep me waiting long. I was asked for any room preference and was given a room on the top floor which is the quiet area. Room was spacious with soundproofing and stylish decor. Usual complimentary teas, coffees, water and fridge. Bed was extremely comfortable. Bathroom had large shower with built in speakers. Breakfast staff helpful, friendly and professional. Large selection of hot and cold breakfast items with additional items that can be made to order. Reception staff very helpful and efficient when checking out. Just a few minutes walk to airport under a covered walk way. Highly recommend this hotel and look forward to staying here again in the future.
Nice hotel but restaurant service poor
Stayed here to catch an early flight next day. The hotel is nice and clean and check-in was easy. However, we wanted to have a nice meal before we retired for the night. To say the service was slow, is an understatement. They took our order straight away, but we waited for a while before our drinks came. To be fair the young lad from behind the bar explained that all his wine glasses had gone through to a private event and was very apologetic. The food took so long to come, we ended up getting a 2nd bottle of wine, but had to go up to the bar ourselves as there was no sign of the waitresses. The food took ages, but to be fair, it was delicious when it came. At no point did the waitresses check or apologise, although the barman did. Next morning at breakfast there was a mix-up at the restaurant again, where we had to get the receptionist to confirm breakfast was included for our stay. As I said, hotel is nice, food was good but restaurant service totally ruined the stay. Expected more from a Crowne Plaza.
Great rooms, very comfortable.
The hotel room was great. Comfortable bed, clean and well laid out. The sound proofing is excellent. The restaurant is a little on the slow side, it can take a while to get a drink or get your food but the food is really good. The towel heater in my room was not working and the drain cover in the middle of the shower would not stay in place properly but honestly was minor. I had a small issue in the club lounge but to be fair management did take care of the problem when then they found out about it. The management was actually very happy to talk about my problem, which boiled down to new staff that was not properly trained. In a previous post I made (which I deleted to be fair) I went over the issue in detail but had not talked to the management about it yet. I was pleasantly surprised that it was addressed the next day because of the review I posted. In my line of work I end up in lots of different hotels worldwide and usually if you mention a problem it gets brushed off or they just tell you what you wanted to hear at the time. But not at the Crown Plaza Aberdeen Airport. This kind of management is what I would like to tip my hat to. You don’t often find that level of customer service anymore. I would definitely stay there again.
