Great B&B for a few nights in Jarandilla
We wanted to stay in Jarandilla on our trip through Spain to visit the Monisterio at Yuste. This hotel is perfect; spotlessly clean and run by a friendly couple who want you to enjoy their lovely hotel. Set on the edge of town, it is easy to find and has ample parking. The rooms are spacious on the 2nd floor with a powerful shower and efficient Air Conditioning. The towels are white and fluffy and smell lovely. The breakfast is substantial by Spanish standards and is included in the price. We were given a homemade map with the Monisterio and other interesting places to visit and had a really great day. We have stayed in the Parador in the past which is also lovely, but this is more rural and for my money more local and authentic.
fine location, even finer staff
This was a spur-of-the-moment weekend trip, where we had most of a day to arrive in Jarandilla de la Vera, an overnight, and then back to meet up with friends the next day. First of all, the drive east of Cáceres was fantastic, even though 35 km was on gravel roads past fighting bull ranches, loaded with berenda cows and bulls. Unforgettable. After visiting Monasterio de Yuste (also remarkable, if heavily restored in the last 60 years) ended up at the hotel rural. It was easy to find, easy to park at, easy to check in -- the bar tender (cafeteria tender, perhaps) was cordial and, when he heard we were interested in local liqueurs, told us about an artisanal producer in Guiso de Santa Barbara -- 20 minutes of drive (and 250 m of elevation gain) above Jarandilla. He was friendly and on his game -- we found what we were looking for. Hotel Rural was clear (spotless) has an elevator (!), the breakfast next day was wonderfully laid out, and you can rest well in this place -- it's a gem, if just a bit expensive for an off-season visit. Oh, and the town beckons!
An enjoyable stay
We stayed for one night and were the only guests. Our large room did not disappoint and was clean & tidy. Hotel staff spoke little English but we managed quite well with our limited Spanish, they were very courteous and helpful.
This Hotel and its Restaurant are worth the effort to visit. Unbelievable friendly staffs, run by the owner and his wife, Jose Luis and Carmen. Charming family operation with all members seriously dedicated to make your stay pleasant. Good quality food, fresh and nicely cooked. Prices are modest and every minute detail is taken care of. The area is beautiful and very interesting. Jose Luis will tell you where to go and make sure you have an enjoyable trip. Good value for your money. Highly recommended. In short; quiet, with personal attention, to be revisited.
Friendly, comfortable, excellent views from rooms at the back of the hotel. Carmen offers terrific service, no stress. Offfered late exit without us asking. We´ll return. Only one complaint: no bidet in the bathrooms.
