Clean, very friendly staff, excellent breakfast included.
Very quiet. Slept well although one of the beds having an aging sag in the middle. I think at least that mattress should be replaced, room 265, bed closest to the window. Every thing you should need in the room, 4 Kcups for coffee, tea. Sports tv channels which not all hotels offer. I would recommend for the normal Joe Blow.
We went for a girls bachelorette weekend. There were 9 of us in total just going for a good time for the evening. The hotel itself is neat and clean and in a great downtown location with proximity to restaurants and bars. They did enforce the quiet hallway policy with hotel staff asking us to keep quiet even at 4:00 p.m. We happened to end up eating at Pizze (great food and lots of ambiance). While waiting for a table we went to the other side of the restaurant/bar to Le Groove and talked to Adam who operated the hotel and restaurant and bar. He was very friendly, interested in why we were visiting and brought us a bottle of Prosecco. He also said that he would ask the hotel to place other guests in rooms further away from us if possible to avoid any noise conflicts. Adam handed out several business cards and told us to call if we needed anything. It was very nice of him and appreciated. It really was great customer service. I would stay there again. It was also attached to the Best Western, which seemed nice as well. Thanks Adam!!
Needs a little love
The hotel is well situated in the middle of downtown. You are literally a block away from bars and restaurants. The rooms need a little love. The decor is a bit dated. Large parking, some parts are covered.
Never going there again
My family and I booked a room at this hotel because we were attending a hockey tournament in town, we spent two nights here. The hotel pictures featured online look very nice and modern, after checking in to our room I noticed the hotel is actually very dated- the bathroom fixtures are quite old. There was no fan in the washroom. The rooms are quite small. 4 of us stayed in one room and we found it to be very crowded. Our team booked all of our rooms in a block so we could be near one another. The kids were playing in the hallways and staff continued to walk up and down the hall, children were given dirty looks and felt quite uncomfortable- this was in the evening and staff were already complaining about noise levels. Later into the evening parents were visiting in the hall and staff came and asked them to be quiet, then asked them to move to the lobby- this was much later at night and is understandable but the children were playing way before 11 and were still treated with disrespect. After checking out Sunday I noticed my credit card was still on hold- I had checked out hours later. I called the hotel to double check what was going on and they said they needed to make sure I did not break anything in the room and it needed to be cleaned. Normally rooms are cleaned that afternoon so why my card was on hold at 7pm was confusing to me. I checked 2 days later and it was still on hold, made another call- the card was taken off hold a day later. At $160 a night you would think the customer service and rooms would be of much higher quality. We will never book at this hotel again and do not recommend it to any one travelling with children.
A home away from home
The reason for my stay at this particular location was the fact that it was less than 5 minutes from bus stand, 7 minutes to the St. Joseph's Cathedral and walking distance to the hospital which I did every day due to a family member being in the hospital. The breakfast was very nourishing and I had the liberty of eating what I could due to allergy problems. How many opportunities due you have to be able to sit and talk with the owner of a hotel. This is my third visit at Deville and would recommend it without any hesitation. When they say "Centre Ville" they mean it. Thank you for a restful opportunity during a crisis situation. Reception was very understanding when I asked for an extra night's accommodation. The room facilities were clean and bright.
