Wouldn't recommend it to anyone
I spent a week in Triton Hotel in September 2019 and would never go back! I understand it's a budget hotel but even cheaper hotels can have some standards. The most disturbing thing was the dirt. The worst was the bathroom which had mold on the walls and just didn't encourage one to even take a shower. Food in the all inclusive package was edible but repetitious and by the end of the week we had enough and started eating out and were so happy about it because there are some lovely restaurants in Malia!
Hotel was basic but done the job for a lads holiday. Seen a lot of really bad negative reviews but clearly people expect to much. By all means go all inclusive if you want. But from my experience I wish I never. Don't get me wrong the food is good enough to eat and always a selection but just found myself eating from takeaways and bars as the hotel was perfectly a 2 minute walk away from the strip with a McDonalds bang on the corner. So that's helpful for remembering your way back to your hotel. Recommend you to buy drink from the airport on your way through because everywhere you go in Malia the drink is watered down including the hotels drink at the pool bar. Staff are nice especially the kitchen staff and Tanya. The cleaners on the other hand could at least smile and say hello when they come into your room as it is nice to be nice. You had to pay for room tax when you got there which in my opinion is just a money making scam. WiFi, air conditioning and safety deposit box. That all had to be bought. And if you take one thing from this review. Buy a safety deposit box and keep your money in it. Don't hide it in your suit case. That's all I'm saying. Room was basic but like I said done the job. Only thing that annoyed me was that there was no stand for the shower hose. I've attached a picture so you can see. And the main question most guys will be wondering.... No you can't bring girls back to your room. But you can probably bribe the over night security guard with €30, €40 if you ask nicely and get along with him 😉😉 he might be a bit morbid and looks grumpy but he's actually a sound guy just doing his job. A hotel I recommend to have a look at and book in for is Charlie's cocktail bar & hotel. Found it a good place to drink at, with great atmosphere and great staff. Wouldn't say I would come back to the Triton hotel but definitely don't regret booking here.
My wife and I stayed for 10 days from 30th Sept. For a start, you get what you pay for. Firstly we couldn't complain about the food. Always able to find something to eat and as for the meat-beautiful, melt in your mouth tender. Staff very friendly and helpful, from reception to cleaners. Hotel is very central and quiet certainly at the time we were there. 5 or 10 mins to beach and plenty restaurants on your doorstep. Being picky I would say beds weren't very comfy but overall I would return if I go back to crete.
I wouldn’t even stay here again if asked. The food was awful, drinks were disgusting, rooms not clean, could hear everything thru walls of rooms and staff not friendly. Very disappointed. Was a waste of money.
