Comfortable room and very clean bathroom. We entered our car reg in at main reception, the computer screen to do this is very obvious - you cannot miss it. The corridor to the lift is quite dated. The WiFi is free and so is the car park. Ubers into the town centre are £4, which is brilliant for a night out. We would stay here again.
Beware of Parking Eye
This hotel sublets their parking to a vulturous outfit called Parking Eye, who deliberately make their parking signs hard to see by using a small font size and low lighting then whack unsuspecting, legitimate hotel customers with massive £100 bills. The hotel then will not assist with appeals or even help deal with this unscrupulous company. I am personally very disappointed with Holiday Inn and hope they will realise the distress they are causing to their customers and at some point decided to stop using Parking Eye.
We had previously had a great stay in a Holiday Inn in Belfast, so had high expectations for this stay. The room was comfortable enough, but the breakfast was very poor quality and not worth the extra paid. We also had extra money taken off for an upgrade which we didn't get, which turned out to be a massive hassle to get back - when contacting Holiday Inn Customer Services they said they would pass on our complaint to the hotel who would get back to us, we never heard anything so had to chase things up ourself. This experience has put us right off Holiday Inn.
More like a Holiday Inn Express. Reception is shared with the bar which is shared with a less than welcoming place to eat, so we didn’t and went into town for a Chinese instead. It’s ok for a night to get your head down but don’t expect anything else.
Nothing exceptional but some very good points
This is the usual functional Holiday inn hotel, Situated on office building estate it is very close to both town and the M40 and very quiet indeed. Parking is massive, secure and free (not always the case in Lemington spa) Front desk efficient and quick and I was soon at my room. A little disappointing at first sight, a bit dark and dowdy, small windows and a small room overall but nice and clean ,in fact VERY clean, The bathroom actually struck me as being squeaky clean and I was very impressed. tea/coffee in the room as well as an irn and ironing board but no safe (which i didn't like as I was in town for a cash auction) also ,for some reason no glasses(!) I thought this just a oversight but they didn't appear next day either! I was surprised to see the hotel had its own large bar and full time restaurant . Air con heating in the room was very modern and was actually adjustable (not always the case I find) . I was offered a room including breakfast for £15 over the room price when I booked on line and stuck with just the room only. When I arrived I was offered the breakfast for just £10 so I though ,what the heck! I was so glad i took it, the breakfast was a good as any Ive had in general UK hotels ,a huge selection of hot and cold items, great coffee and every cooked breakfast item you could ask for (inc black pudding) very very impressed with the breakfast. Didnt try the restaurant at night because so many good ones in town but did notice it was very busy on the Sat night ,as was the bar. Things to beware. Be sure to enter your car reg in the machine at the desk or you will get charged, this is not a problem and the staff will remind you, no room safe, I know they are not great anyway but they are useful. There are coupe of mistakes on there web site. its says wi-fi is a charge...its not its free it says there is a vending machine on the first floor...I couldnt find it. Main reason for using a hotel like this is..of course, to sleep and the beds are comfortable and there is a choice of pillows. I needed to stay two nights,sat/sun the Sat price was high the sun reasonable Would I stay again? yes no problem.
