Great hotel, 13 minute walk to town.

Very nice hotel. Loved the staff. Clean, nice breakfast and a 13-15 minute walk to a quaint little town with beach. Excellent restaurants in the town and a market 7-8 minutes walk. Only negative was the bed was super hard !!! We tried to get a better mattress but didn’t happen. Very little parking but we would stay there again. Matala was by far our favorite city.

Lovely staff

The hotel is fairly basic so don't expect too much. Value for money it is very good. The hotel is 10-15 minutes' walk of the main restaurants and bars and the town square down a gentle slope. The main draw of the town is Spinalonga Island. The staff arranged a taxi for us from and to the airport and were very helpful prior to arrival. Glikeria and Maria were pleasant throughout and the George was efficient and cheerful in the bar and cafeteria. The pool area is a good size with plenty of sunbeds and a decent pool. The room we had 203 was a Kingsize bed with a separate single. Good view from the balcony and was on the top floor. The entrance was from the stairwell so some noise from passing guests. One problem is the building has no sound proofing so guests slamming doors reverberates throughout, doors need self-closers fitted. Good shower and decent amount of room. The air conditioner along with the rest of the room was old so quite noisy. Room could really do with a total refurbishment. I think our room was the only one without a window blind. The hotel is on a busy road so rooms near the front would have some traffic noise. The breakfast had a good choice of cold meats, cheese, fruit plus a decent hot selection. The hotel was clean throughout thanks to the hardworking cleaner.

Would not recommend un-hygienic

We stayed for a week end Sept beginning Oct, we were supposed to have a promotional garden room, haha, room was on 2nd floor even though it had 4 levels of rooms, up 4 flights of stairs &no lift, room looked out onto waste land no garden in sight, bathroom was minging, had to clean toothpaste off sink myself on arrival. Shower base was just concrete not tiled, taps were tatty, toilet never got cleaned. Says cleaned daily, Er no, we put signs out to clean room. To me that's full clean. Chucked covers back up on bed but not changed & bins emptied, that's not cleaning to me, don't think they know what a brush is for, chair on balcony was ripped. Bedroom furniture looked cheap, beds very uncomfortable, bedside lamp was useless, 1 drawer & 5 hangers, side cupboards had no shelf either, obviously everyone arrives with practically no clothes. Breakfast selection was dire, only thing that changed was how eggs were cooked, fresh meats there was 2, tomatoes cucumber & pepper, often looked like they were the day before left overs, toasters were out the ark & took forever to toast, sunbeds were old & dirty, The plus side, reception girls were lovely & helpful, Jorge on bar was really friendly too. Would I go back or recommend, that's a No.

Amazing....just amazing

What can I say about the kirini apart from amazing. It's 10 to 15 mins stroll to elounda. But if your on your sunbed all day you need some exercise. It's so chilled out and quite It's a different world . Glycerin and Maria are (receptionists) are absolutely stars nothing is to much trouble ( NOTE TO OWNERS retain these girls for next season ) . The rooms are clean and the hotel is spotless . The breakfast was very good you can eat as much as want and what ever you want . George who ran the bar was brilliant. And Despina ( hotel manager) always asked how you are doing and say hello . I CANNOT PRAISE THIS PLACE ENOUGH. Thank you kirini you are amazing Mark and debs x

We booked this hotel having read many excellent reviews. However, we were very disappointed. On the plus side, the staff were great, very helpful and friendly; the rooms were quiet; the walk into Elounda only took 15-20 minutes and the pool area was good. However, the hotel itself is in need of attention. Chrome was peeling off the shower and sink tap, one curtain was missing hooks, a socket was hanging off the wall and some plaster had come off another wall. The shower head, in the small bathrooms, was only 2" in diameter and no bathmat was provided. The room furnishing was cheap and lacked shelves in the bedside cabinets - only five hangers were provided. We were expecting a restaurant and poolside bar but the 'restaurant' only served snacks until 3.00 and drinks until 5.00, when it closed. The poolside bar was closed. At breakfast the choice of cereals was minimal, boiled eggs (hard) were cold and fried egg yolks were also hard. Given the position of this hotel, if upgraded it would be a lovely place to stay but, as it is at present, we would not recommend it.
