Old Marriott Property
Opinión escrita el 14 de Mayo de 2021
There are so many nice Marriott properties in the Albany area that this property should be one of your last choices unless you are on a strict budget and just don’t care about the comfort level of your room. Over off Wolf Road is a beautiful brand new built Marriott Courtyard/Residence Inn and after staying at that property, this Fairfield was very poor for basically the same price. Do your Marriott research and pick a different location!
Scammers & Liars !

THEY ARE TRYING TO SCAM ME OF MY MONEY! Claimed I stayed an extra night while I didn’t, charged my card an extra night & refuses to compromise and give it back even with all the proof I have. Terrible customer service! They laughed at me and claimed they won’t change it. Extremely disgusting should be ashamed of themselves trying to take a low income college students money during a pandemic. I also seen multiple other charges on my card (extra $10 twice). ABSOLUTELY SICK! If you care about protecting your credit card information & money do not stay here.
Clean and reliable

Hotel is spotlessly clean and taking Covid concerns seriously. Staff is eager to please. It is not a luxury property by any means, but it is a clean and reliable Fairfield. As a platinum elite I have chosen this property several times this year while in the area. The breakfast bags are better than some Fairfields I've stayed at and included a hot breakfast sandwich, muffin, full sized juice, yogurt, and an apple. Renovations are underway, but found no inconvenience to the work being done.
Do not stay. They had a power outage and never let us know!

We tried to stay at this hotel in July. We had a reservation and as of 11:30pm our app said the room was ready for check in. We arrived at 11:30pm and the hotel was completely dark. No note on the door, no text from Marriott, no change to our app.
We had no where to go and it was very late.
As a Lifetime Titanium member this has never happened to us before. But wait- there is more to this horrible story.
The next morning we receive an email from the manager saying that there was a wide spread power outage and the entire block had no power and there was nothing he could have done. He had no power so he could not reach us. Hmmmm. You mean to tell us that a multi million dollar corporation like Marriott does not have a system in place when a hotel loses power??
First, the Hilton property right next door and the Courtyard property just down street had power. So his line about the entire block being dark just isn’t true.
Second, he told us he “walked” the other hotel guests that were staying at the hotel to another hotel. Hmmmmm again. Wonder how he managed that if he had no power and no way to reach us? Obviously, he had the ability to move an entire hotel full of guests to another hotel. He had access to their information. He had a way to move them. He obviously had access to Marriott’s large and extensive reservation system. He most likely had a cell phone.
He just forgot about us. We get it. It’s a late check in. Things happen in a power outage. However, Marriott has a policy in effect for this exact purpose. If you are “walked” to another hotel you get (at Titanium level) 90,000 points, your hotel night paid for, and $100. This is in place to keep very loyal customers happy if something goes wrong. However, the manager here refuses to give us this benefit and would only give us 12,500 points. That is a big difference and certainly not in line with the Marriott policy.
Three months later and we are still dealing with him. We have tried to give him the benefit of the doubt but he seems to be holding firm that he had no way to contact us.
We waited months before writing a negative review to see how he would handle the situation. We have given him every opportunity to make this right. Sad that in a time of Covid, when Marriott needs every customer it can get right now, they have hotel managers like this.
If you are loyal to Marriott brands stay away form this hotel at all costs. If you are thinking of staying here- think again. There is a lovely Hilton property next door that doesn’t seem to lose power like the Fairfield Inn.
(We are sure he will respond to this negative review saying he tried everything and or there is nothing he could do because of the power outage. We suggest he read what we wrote above. )
Did Not Impress

Recently spent a night at this hotel for business. Although the staff was excellent, the property is showing its age. I understand renovations are underway, and would wait for their completion before giving this property another try.
