Breaking Bad in Albuquerque
Reviewed 12 October, 2019
Bad new here. Long, long, check in. Room was really Breaking Bad: No fan in the bathroom ceiling, just a hole, sink was calked in using what looks like a tooth brush, what are you to do with a half in gap? Door crack large enough for insects and other critters, stained ceilings, chair was missing from the room, just an office chair in the room. Breakfast area was not being maintained, not enough tables and chairs. The managers card, Sonny, says "Newly Renovated" (what year was that). The TV remote was missing the back cover, not an issue however there was sticky all over the back where they used tape.
The worst manager ever!

We stayed at the EconoLodge on Iliff Rd in Albuquerque on 10/2/19. When we checked into our room, the smoke alarm was beeping. Rather than replace the battery, they just took the smoke alarm right off the wall. Isn't this a violation of some safety regulation? At 1:30 inthe morning, we woke up to a loud, constanct tapping noise. When we called the front desk, we were told that the faucet must be dripping. When we insisted the water was turned off, the front desk guy came and said we could turn the air conditioning up full blast so we wouldn't hear the noise. Ever try to sleep with the air on all night & noisey? So he told us we could move into the next room, which we did, but not conducive to sleep, having to move at 2:00 in the morning. When we checked out the next day, the manager, Sonny Patel, was not willing to compensate us for our horrible night's sleep. He could at least give us a perentage off our bill for our inconvenience. The breakfast was horrible. Frozen egg omelets. We wouldn't stay here if it was the last place in town.
Broken fan, broken AC, tired beds

The first room we were checked in to smelled of smoke, we had requested a smoke-free room. The second room was smoke-free. Though the sign at the front said they were renovating, other than the horrible new paint colors in our room, we saw no evidence of improvements. It was a hot evening. The ceiling fan made a grinding noise when turned on and one of the blades was off kilter and the whole unit wobbled dangerously, so it was useless. The AC did not work. Alex at the front desk did his best to assist us, but could not fix the AC. He discounted our room, though we wish it could have been for more. Beds are tired and need to be replaced.

We had a room that connected with the pool area. It was only steps to enjoy the hot tub. The room and pool area were clean. The breakfast area could have used a few more options. As someone who is gluten free my only option was an apple or an orange. We were able to have a good dinner within walking distance and there was ample area for walking our dog.

Outstanding service from the owner to Every employee. This is without a doubt the most attentive staff of all econo lodges. Clean rooms and grounds all updated beatifully. I will ONLY stay here when in the Albuquerque area now that I have had the pleasure of staying here.
