Great value, very friendly

We stayed here on a Friday for a night out in Alderley Edge. The location was ideal, being on the main road through the village. Parking was behind the hotel and was easy enough. The management and staff were super friendly throughout and the bar and restaurant area were really nice places to spend some time. We found the hotel to be spotlessly clean and our room was great for a comfortable nights sleep. Breakfast was delicious and served piping hot. We would definitely recommend and will be returning to this hotel when we are next in the area.

Arrived to a warm welcome off bar lady and manager of which there were 2 and were both very helpful and informative. pub and food was excellent had breakfast 2 mornings it was freshly made to order and was very nice. Pub was well decorated and traditional a lovely place to relax. room was clean and comfortable do need a makeover but adequate. had a fantastic stay and would definitely recommend, manager also brought us a bottle of fizz and chocolates to our room for our anniversary which was fantastic. Hope to stay again soon.

Great location for road network

The property is located off Congleton Road, on the left if approaching from the south and is sited in a triangle, with Chorley Hall Lane on its western boundary. There is a car park to the front of the premises that includes both customers for the accommodation and the associated Greene King pub and restaurant. There appeared to be sufficient parking on my arrival, but on busier, peak periods I wonder if there is enough. A few of the spaces are dedicated to electric vehicle charging. The parking is managed by a third-party organisation, and it is therefore important that on arrival at the reception (located at the entrance to the restaurant) car registrations are registered through the touch-screen terminal. I would strongly advise that a cellphone photograph is taken of the confirmation screen, in case of future claims/accusations by the T-P. On my arrival the reception desk was empty, BUT a staff member was present in seconds to check me in, which was swift and efficient. My allocated room was at the top of the stairs and lift is available. The room itself, booked as a single traveller, contained a large double bed, open wardrobe with hangers, in-room thermostat with radiator and large desk holding one of the largest flat-profile TVs I have encountered within a hotel room! The bathroom had an over-bath shower and bath, with wall-mounted hand soap and hair/body wash dispensers. On the desk were menus for breakfast, lunch and dinner, along with hotel information. There was a hairdryer tucked within the desk shelving. Overall, the room was great for a short stay, for local business, however there were a couple of issues mainly related to the desk… Due to the room layout and angled ceiling (roof), the light in the centre of the rooms ceiling did not illuminate the desk very well and so it was fairly dark while sitting there; an additional light, or even a basic desk lamp would make a great difference… Also, because the socket-outlets are mounted so low (or the desk so high), plugging anything in to the sockets using a typical plug was causing a lot of tension on the cable entry to the plug, and if I was staying for a few days or more, I would be concerned about the physical effects on my equipment. Being at the top of the stairs also created some noise from arrivals and departures, and so next time will request a room away from this area, if possible. Aside from the above, there were not any dramatic issues or problems, and for the price I paid, I was very satisfied – will I stay here again? I *will* be back…
