Family run lakeside motel (no inn and no luxury) on a lake. Close to Park. A little run down Limited front desk. Not much suite. Has microwave - no utensils or cups. Gazebo with bbqs and chairs to enjoy. No restaurant meals - eat elsewhere. 3 dinner items- burger, fish chips and another. Burger/fries $20 and $2.25 more for cheese and drinks from vending machine (no bar). Overall a good stopping place but no value added.

Looked great from outside. Mice feces and poison left in sight..garbage under the bed..wi fi didn't work. Watched mice run around.. stained linens..the only nice amenity was the view of the river close by. Save yourself the money and stay somewhere else
Inside fine, outside pretty ghastly

We stayed at the Algonquin Lakeside Inn in mid-September 2022 for one night. It was the only game in town for a single Friday night, when I searched a few days ahead (not surprisingly). I saw a number of quite bad reviews, so was worried about what it would be like. In short, the bad reviews were correct as far as the outside went. However fortunately the inside was surprisingly decent, very clean, though a minimalist layout (one chair, no table). The bathroom was fine, the TV worked, the WiFi was fine, the bed was also OK. The grounds on the other hand were exceptionally bad – nothing appealing about it at all. The barbecues didn’t work, and a couple looked as though someone had barfed in them. The plastic outdoor chairs were so flimsy I thought they might break just by sitting in them. Weeds everywhere. Obviously, the owners have decided to just let the grounds go back to nature. The "restaurant" also looked bad, though we didn't try it. The place might be acceptable if it charged $100 a night or less, but it was almost as expensive as other nearby lodges that looked infinitely nicer.
Not what it looks like in photos

We had booked this motel on line as it seemed like a quiet lakeside resort. The place is run down and was such a disappointment when we arrived. The grounds have bit been kept up and the beds are hard and uncomfortable. There was no fireplace in the room it had been boarded up. We were on a motorcycle trip with 3 other couples and the other couples refused to stay because of the substandard condition and we're not given a refund. The menu of food that is advertised is so overpriced 19.99 for a hamburger and fries. Just fries 9,00. Personal pizza 19.00.... Would not recommend this motel to anyone.
Appears to be under new ownership

A lot has changed since my last visit to Algonquin Lakeside Inn. It seems to have new ownership who are trying to improve things. There was good water pressure, hot water, new drapes and the WI Fi actually worked and was stable. Rooms have been painted (baseboards and doors to go) . It was clean and comfortable (not luxurious) and I'd stay again.
